"Cottage garden" oil on canvas approx 1991. The wonderful thing about gardens in South Africa is that they just grew despite terrible neglect. I deeply miss this kind of wild overgrown slightly out of control feel of these spaces.

"Richards Cafe" Pietermarizburg, once the capital city of South Africa now basically a university town. Richard, a fellow student started this coffee house in the oldest part of the town centre. Richard still has this painting in his home 33 years after I painted it

I'd love to know more about the architecture of this house I lived in in South Africa. It's not Victorian or Cape Dutch. Could it be English Arts and Crafts or Aesthetic style? Maybe a Mediterranean influence? Please comment if you have any thoughts.

I think one of the most interesting things that I have discovered about London is that people come here to live extraordinary lives. The problem is that the lengths they go to fulfil that idea often kills them.
Bumped into this guy, in the shop, that I was seeing a bit of just over a year ago. Had to call it off because he wanted me to start taking Tina with him. He looks 10 years older. His hand shook as he reached out for the stuff on the shelves. It's kind of torn me up a bit.
"The cottage" probably started life as a shed. A bathroom, no kitchen. Damp not secure, quaint and charming, surrounded by a fantastic garden. Subscribe to my email for more information. Click link in bio.
