Irish ICU registrar, working in New Zealand, because irish health service is crap for patients & staff.
if your account is anonymous, I will be skeptical
#ccr25#UK-ROX oxygenation and oxygen targets are a major determination of whether a patient is extubatable. Why do the investigstors think there was no separation in duration of mechanical ventilation? Or is the data granular enough to tell (recorded in hours vs days)?
#ccr25#TARGETproteintrial
Should we be targeting lower doses of protein, or maintain current targets understanding that we do not generally meet the current targets to avoid giving any less protein?
@TFaddy They also ignore several key facts:
1. large amounts of money spent on roads comes from general taxs, not motor taxs
2. Most damage to roads (and hence maintenance costs) are due to motor vehicles- they're heavy. (Natural forces distant second place, bikes+pedestrians negligible)
World Health Organization said HSE CervicalCheck is the sole global outlier for volume of legal claims and scale of liability.
That's an abstract statement, though.
I put in a lot of work to try give a realistic comparison to legal claims against NHS Cervical Screening. /1
It's sad in many respects to see Aisling O'Loughlin's descent into a far-right, full-blown conspiracy theorist.
I see people wondering how this could happen to her and how inexplicable it is.
Actually how and when it happened to her is the easiest part to understand. /1
@DogICUma Hi Paul, I'm an ICU registrar in Waikato currently running my first RCT and wondering if I could get some advice?
If you could DM me that would be much appreciated
@lufthansa Hello, I have now been waiting 12 weeks. The EU directive says I am entitled to a response within 2 months or to escalate to regulator.
I have sent another email to Lufthansa, and will escalate to the German enforcement body if I do not get a reply to in the next 48 hours
Hey @lufthansa had a flight delayed leading to missed connection 3 weeks ago, and trying to claim compensation and refund for upgrade I missed out on. No response to email and phone agent unhelpful - said to email again
The CTU has costed Nationals Tax Package because it consistently refuses to. The clear take-away from $bns in tax cuts is that it is geared to those on the very highest incomes, with more than 2m New Zealanders getting $2.15 a week or less. A thread...
@BrianJLee77 No, definitely not.
People have had a relationship with these lands for many generations, and such a move would be both very wrong and counterproductive.
Bringing nature back has to *engage*, not alienate, farmers and rural communities. Otherwise it won't happen.
McBurney commercial director Paul Jackson told a House of Lords committee on Friday “The Protocol for us has been a complete disaster. It simply does not work for our customers.” He forgot to mention McBurney profits increased by 27% last year… https://t.co/he4IMoVaWE
Why are people still using Trendelenburg position for hypotensive ED pts (Trauma, GIB, sepsis etc)?? Zero cardiovascular benefits but increases risk of vomiting/aspiration & decreases tidal volume
Stop it

Isn't it crazy that at the height of the famine, the Quakers were sending more aid than the British government
More crazy still, when the Ottoman Sultan wanted to send 10,000 pounds of gold, the British made him lower it to 1000
When the Ottomans secretly sent food ships...
Anyone who read a bit of Descartes at college & then tried to explain it to their mates while extremely stoned will cringe at this. Also, what a weapon.
