Watching that BBC documentary by Ademba has shattered me. How can it almost be a year and no one not a single person has been held accountable? It makes you wonder if the judiciary, if the law itself, was ever real. We keep pushing technology forward like it’s everything, yet humanity and justice are rotting away even faster. It’s gutting. It’s like watching hope die in real time.
Like what the actual fuck!

🇰🇪 In 2024, a protest at Kenya’s legislature was ended by the gunfire of security forces.

Today the lawyers at Milimani made my day. Appearing before Hon Asiago in Milimani was a lady who was being sued for an unpaid debt. As a judgment debtor, she couldn't raise the amount. Apparently, she is a housemaid earning 5k and has a baby (she had the baby in court). The magistrate's hands were tied, and he explained to her that he only had one option in law, to send her to jail.
Something beautiful then happened. An advocate called Omuga interjected and offered to settle the JDs deretal amount, after him came another, and another... The magistrate also contributed.
In about 5 minutes, the Decree holder's advocate was MPESAd his money, the JD received the balance and case was closed.
My faith in humanity was restored.
