@AJ97180478@8EyedEel the problem with xcom was the crit-hit correlation. Although what define an extremely lucky hit can be argued it felt tremendously unfair
@JoshAnimator I believe it's a mixture of how sex and adulthood are perceived. It's not coincidence that the most strict countries were influenced by the cradle of puritanism (England). The protection of the image of childhood and Innocence is strong. what makes you an adult? doesn't matter
@DeeWaynee94 I want to understand, why people cannot be happy with blue winning? no stakes push both ways (survivor guilt vs survival instinct), and they were anonymous votes. framing really changes the moral level to the point both can be considered bad in different paradigms.
@jonathanbylos@Gwinnett_wit I understand that some feeling attacked by blue voters. I feel unseen.. I just thought "why would someone want an outcome where people die?" first impression, no overthinking. vote for the outcome you want, accept that you can lose, and be responsible for it. that is actual Dem.
@tsteele93@MattWallaceTech I agree with the social pressure effect, so in an actual scenario it would be even more difficult to have a clear answer. Being fictitious though also changes the weight of red so it ends up basically the same. people's lives, including yours, is a heavy burden
@tsteele93@MattWallaceTech it actually depends on framing , culture and (dis)trust. so it would be very difficult to have an actual representative poll. Still, that only makes the outcome uncertain, it does not automatically change it. also, virtual signaling only works partially in online anon polls
@Morgan_Scape@SigmaMelody@HardwireMedia We are posting at the same time and x is messy. but I understand your point, we are both denouncing killing, but our framing changes who is killing so it would be impossible to agree with different frames in that sense. Tiredness hits hard, sry for my grammar
@Morgan_Scape@SigmaMelody@HardwireMedia I insist, do not overthink. just vote for the outcome you want. Life or death, we have reached this far because we have people who ran AND people who fought, no matter the odds.
@Morgan_Scape@SigmaMelody@HardwireMedia You can say even that this is completely evil. On the one side you add to the chance of killing, on the other, you add to the casualties. No moral highground in there
@Morgan_Scape@SigmaMelody@HardwireMedia now I stand with the idea red = killing because it requires people to *add* votes to that outcome, that is difficult for me to challenge internally... but it is a binary selection so I can agree that is the same for blue in "adding to the death toll"
@Morgan_Scape@SigmaMelody@HardwireMedia I did a lot of mental gymnastics and now think it's simpler. are you native speaker? what is the first thing that comes to your mind once given the question (1st interpretation\impresion). those two things change the framing which is key for deciding your answer
@tsteele93@MattWallaceTech The sad thing is how many people is triggered and in denial of blue winning all the polls so far. red is correlated with trust issues as well so they won't believe the poll is representative either. things get more interesting when asked what outcome do they want
@Bernd35443445@ShooterForSeth@CstmrSrvcNYEYH@TheCartoonLoon Accomplice is a strong word because of the moral weight. My point is to make people understand why some press blue, for some it is rejection of contributing to the outcome where anyone dies. That will always exist and it's not suicidal either
@Bernd35443445@ShooterForSeth@CstmrSrvcNYEYH@TheCartoonLoon well that's partially true. Its not a chance, its an additive condition. sum 1 or do not add anything. if the count goes over 4b everyone that did not added is dead. It might be relatively small, but you are absolutely adding to the count.
