Huge thanks to @KieranB_UCD and Rebecca Sheridan for helping to push this over the finish line, and of course my PI Dr Margaret Mc Gee for being so patient during the reviewing process.

๐Iโm a published woman!๐
Delighted to finally have some work from my PhD published, itโs definitely felt long overdue! We found that CypAโs phosphorylation status plays an important role in its localisation from the centrosome to mid-body, and identified it as a novel..
Oocytes rely on maternal mRNAs for development into healthy eggs. But where and how are these mRNAs stored?
Our latest work in @ScienceMagazine shows that mammalian oocytes store mRNAs in a mitochondria-associated membraneless compartment (MARDO). https://t.co/kZehsBRKxb (1/9)
Itโs definitely been a fun couple of weeks of time off (covid interruption aside), but Iโm happy to say Iโve just finished the first week of my new industry job and so far so good!
Excited to be back doing some science, albeit in a very different capacity ๐ฉโ๐ฌ
2 years and multiple vaccinations in to all this, Iโve finally been caught ๐คง
Happy to report though that my symptoms arenโt horrendous (just like a bad cold with a raspy cough), fingers crossed this is as bad as it gets! ๐ค
.. And that I donโt take @ChemConnon down with me ๐
