@acradleconvert@HabitualLinest Of course you didn’t. Because there is nothing to support that. That is why teaching as a whole is rubbish.
Pope Leo X would seem to disagree with you. Council of Trent seemed to think it was a big issue as well.
Agree to disagree.
@itisHowieDewitt@HabitualLinest So your honest view is that crucifixion was sufficient punishment for a life of sin? Like in place of purgatory?
I’m not being snarky. I’m honestly asking as I haven’t heard this answer from the catholic folk I have presented this to in the past.
@HabitualLinest Because the Bible is quite clear on it. Nice try though, I didn’t see that one coming from a mile away 🙄
Your turn, why do you canonize the repentant thief on the cross? Where was his punishment?
@HabitualLinest Of course you don’t. However, if you’re going to tell me to “read my Bible” while posting a random verse with no relevance to the topic, you’re going to get called out on it. You’re the one making a claim that the Bible doesn’t support. If that verse was your best proof… yikes
@HabitualLinest You all keep posting these verses and none of them have anything to do with the blasphemy that is purgatory. This can’t be your best evidence. The amount of mental gymnastics required is staggering.
@HabitualLinest If it were up to me, she would be found guilty, and hung by the neck until dead. My answer doesn’t change even if she has a credible profession of faith.
However, if she’s not found guilty, I do not think that anybody should break the law to dole out societal punishments.
@acradleconvert@HabitualLinest Oh wow, that was all you had. yikes. Can you not think of any other way that God could chastise us here on earth without making up a separate afterlife (not supported by scripture) that you have to pay lots of money (historically) to get out of? Cmon dude, that’s quite a leap.
