Apple folded the bottom of the oled panels back in on itself while Samsungs at the same time had big chins due to Apple patenting this technique not being copyable.

This is why Apple was ahead on bezels for so long because they curved the screen backwards around the edge and Samsung couldn’t copy them despite making them.
