The baby bouncing on Nesma's lap has his mother's smile and her curious eyes, but nothing she says of the three paramilitary fighters who gang raped her two years ago in Khartoum.

A devastating drone strike targeted Al-Daein Hospital in Sudan’s East Darfur State on 20 March, the first evening of Eid al-Fitr, rendering the facility completely inoperable and leaving thousands without medical care. The attack struck the hospital’s emergency, paediatric, and maternity departments, resulting in mass casualties in the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)-controlled region.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the bombing killed 64 people—including 13 children and three medical staff—and injured 89 others. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus strongly condemned the strike, noting that the death toll from attacks on healthcare facilities during the ongoing Sudanese conflict has now surpassed 2,000 individuals. https://t.co/F2rFu98MOV

A @bellingcat investigation reveals that child soldiers in Sudan’s civil war have become viral figures on TikTok. Young boys widely referred to as “lion cubs” appear in military uniforms, celebrating battlefield victories, delivering speeches, and making violent threats. In some footage, the children are armed.
The accounts reviewed show the children alongside fighters and senior officials from both sides of the conflict, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), with videos amassing millions of views.
Child soldier experts told Bellingcat that the visibility and popularity of this content risk encouraging recruitment by portraying participation in fighting as normal, celebrated, and aspirational.
