@DianeMu57699402 @simplesarahbear@premierbhiggs Please come into schools and verify if these things you believe are true are not. There are no litter boxes. Teachers are not being asked to refer to children as animals.
Bill Hogan commented during yesterdays press release of #Policy713 saying “it’s no big deal” referring to kids coming out.
I retired from teaching one year ago. As I packed up me desk, I also pulled down the obituaries of my students from my bulletin board - students who all died by suicide. Students that I knew and cared for. Before Policy 713 was implemented. Every GSA teacher around the province would know of a student who died by or attempted suicide. HOW DARE YOU SAY “IT’S NO BIG DEAL.” #resign
What am I missing here? Isn’t this exactly the same thing? Not forcing teachers to out students (like he could do that anyways) but instead requiring teachers to get permission from parents if students want to use a different pronoun and/or name at school?
How does Hogan NOT understand this? He can’t be deciding the fate of these kids and not understand this after weeks of teachers, PSSC, DEC folks, students, his own employees, GSA kids, NBIAA, HNB, Women’s Council, Pride in Education, Chroma, parents, EGALE Canada, etc - informing him repeatedly.
Hogan is not educable. Now we learn he’s a bully (Logan’s story in the media yesterday). Plus, based on this bullying report, he has absolutely no respect for 2SLGBTQ+ kids or the community. He needs to either step down or be removed from his position as Minister. #Resign #Policy713 #bully #EducationMatters
TEACHERS WILL NOT ABIDE BY ANY OF HOGAN’S CHANGES TO POLICY 713. We will NOT be his gender police!
@Gov_NB Actions speak louder than words. Don't just put up a post about "celebrating" pride month while also showing over and over again with your actions that you don't understand or support queer students.
Preliminary estimates indicate that approximately 200 homes or structures have been damaged as a result of the fires. A full assessment of the damage cannot yet be confirmed. Details: https://t.co/8ymlOpgSLM
@premierbhiggs Please read the policies you're meant to be reviewing before you start talking about it. Policy 713 had nothing to do with the curriculum.
@RobSkeptic1@OntTeacherTracy@a_sahar26@Teachers__Unite So teaching is the"wrong career choice"? Devaluing teachers like this is a big part of the issue of why so many are leaving the profession. Perhaps people with this view of teaching should spend some time in a classroom.
For those of you interested to learn more about the current @NBTFFENB @NBTeachersAssn contract negotiations, I encourage you to reach out to any of the thousands of educators across this province or better yet, your MLA.
Last night we set up New Brunswick's first Covid-19 Memorial next to the art gallery in Fredericton. 443 grave stones to represent the 443 counted lives of New Brunswickers that have been lost to Covid. We felt New Brunswick day served as a good day to remember them.
