▶️ A legal problem is rarely just legal. For people living in poverty, housing or employment disputes lead to financial instability and health challenges. The justice gap costs countries 1.7% of GDP. Closing it must be an economic priority.

@DDOTDC@wmata I ended up going home b/c impossible to safely reach the bus stops. I'm lucky to have remote work flexibility, but many people in the District don't. @MayorBowser@DDOTDC more needs to be done to protect & support residents, and enable safe travel *four days* after the storm.
.@DDOTDC read the room! Just tried to commute via the D60/D6X bus. Sidewalks on the southbound side of 16th St (at Alaska, Dahlia) entirely covered in snow/ice, bus stops inaccessible. Large portions of Alaska unpassable to pedestrians, leaving me to walk in a busy street. @wmata
Navigating snowcrete and icy streets demands caution. Allow extra time to get where you’re going, stay aware of your surroundings, and watch for pedestrians and crews working to keep streets clear.
@DDOTDC@wmata Yes, walking in the street raises safety issues, but currently it is safer than trying to navigate a lot of sidewalks in the city. Don't blame pedestrians for public service failures.
WJP expresses its deep concern regarding the deteriorating rule of law conditions in Minnesota, US. The tragic killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti represent a critical breakdown in the safeguards intended to protect fundamental rights and ensure state accountability. ⬇️
What does it mean to be locked out of justice?
More than 5 billion people are living in the global justice gap—unable to resolve legal problems or benefit from the protections and opportunities the law should provide.

It was an honor to rep @TheWJP at the Int'l A2J Forum in NYC, joining @SDG16Plus@UNDP to talk people-centered justice & our work measuring access to justice in Ibero-America
🌍 Last week, the @SDG16Plus#JusticeForAll team joined the International Access to Justice Forum 2025, hosted by @nyulaw and @FordhamLawNYC. The panel explored how regional alliances can drive people-centered justice reforms, bridging lived experiences with policy and scaling success through data and evidence.
✨ Highlights:
▴ @TMahleka introduced the African Alliance for People-Centered Justice (#AAPCJ) and announced the 2025 African Regional Forum.
▴ Laura Ospina showcased the Ibero-American Alliance (#IBA) as a platform for measuring justice gaps, sharing solutions, and advancing collective reforms.
▴ CIC colleagues highlighted the Justice Action Coalition’s global push for measurable justice outcomes.
We were also inspired by:
▴ Yann Cres (@UNDP) on diverse justice ecosystems as challenges and opportunities for innovation.
▴ Young Justice Leader @GraceHulseman (@TheWJP) on accessible resources for policymakers and the public.
Together, the panel emphasized the importance of cross-regional collaboration, South-South solidarity, and grassroots innovation as key to advancing justice for all.

“If your cause is just, nothing is impossible.” — William Neukom
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of William H. Neukom, founder of the World Justice Project, known to all of us simply as Bill.
Bill’s unwavering belief in justice, his gift for bringing people together, and his vision for a more just world shaped everything we do. He was a mentor, a leader, and a friend.
His legacy lives on in our work to advance the rule of law globally—a mission he championed with care, courage, and conviction.
