@stalefish720 @jonfavs@bendreyfuss Thanks! I mainly mentioned my cancer diagnosis as a nod to other fucked up ways people are forced to keep working to make ends meet when they're sick. I don't want anyone to die. From anything. I think we can agree that focusing on a misunderstood tweet is not the fix.
3. Burkhardt cited her story as a reason to restrict access to Drama, a novel published by Scholastic. The book includes this image of two people kissing:
@kate_rackham Should add that in the end, I'm back in the chemo chair for 14 rounds of a new med. So I very much see the celebration as an end of a treatment chapter, not a cure.
@kate_rackham You are not miserable! I'm stage 4 and didn't have a bell for chemo. They did do a private congratulations and best wishes at the end which I appreciated. Radiation did have a bell but it was also private. I enjoy celebrating my wins (and other folx) but privacy helped.
@JasonIsbell in the chemo chair again. It's been a tough 6 months - diagnosed stage 4 at 36 yo. I listen to weathervanes on repeat during my infusions. Thank you for your comfort. I am determined to see you in Denver in 2024, a month before active treatment finally ends!
@Miriam2626 I'm from midland (not anymore) and was relieved to follow someone who wasn't MAGA. I'm shocked by your inability for empathy of any and all innocent lives. You're right about evil prevailing when people do nothing. And this not me "spewing hate."
@elliemom26RN You have popped up in my newsfeed and I appreciate your openness! I feel exactly as you today. Started new chemo-lite drug bc I didn't get PCR at surgery and halfway through radiation- today had me feeling down and defeated. The fatigue isn't helping. Hang in there!
@JacquiFromSheff@Liz_ORiordan Same. I had pain in my lymph nodes and breast. I'm 36 so because of my age and the "breast cancer doesn't hurt myth" I had to beg for a mammogram. Stage 3 breast cancer (suspicious bone met likely makes me stage 4).
@rissiekins Thank you so much for sharing your photos. I'm 8 out of 25 radiation treatments in and I have no idea what to expect. It was nice to see you healed well with time. I'm sorry you've had to endure this.
