A graduate student trying to get through, one day at a time. This is just a place for me to express my angry, depressed, (rarely) happy, & sarcastic thoughts.
I’ve been out of academia for almost 6 months now, it has been a wild ride already. I’m very surprised at how much my current job has a connection to almost everything I studied in my degrees. I’ve been blessed in finding this job and actually loving it and everyone I work with.
@rugayaali@AcademicChatter@PhDVoice@Phd_Reality@thephdbreakdown@ThePhDPlace Having a good support system, try to find people who you work well with and understand what you may be going through. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself and take time for yourself. You wouldn’t have started this journey if you didn’t think you could do it. Lots of passion!
@GradStudentTho1 I have M. Sc in Environmental Chemistry. I would like to pursue Ph.D in Environmental Chemistry or Green Chemistry. Preferably on fully funded scholarship. Please, retweet. My potential supervisor could be your follower. Thank you.
@Twitter stop suspending accounts for no reason. Y’all are being ridiculous. So many popular accounts are gone and you guys won’t do anything to help or fix it.
I finished my PhD about 2 months ago, and I just want to share that:
*I spent >5 of 6yrs convinced that I was uniquely behind or lost or dumb
*I worked 50+hrs some weeks but 15 others
*Rest and hobbies helped my science
Struggling doesn't mean you don't belong.
@OpenAcademics
Sorry everyone! Life has been kicking my butt so I have not been super active! But, I graduated with my masters and will be taking a year to get my things in order. I will still keep this account and try to be more active! I plan to start a PhD program next Fall. Lots of love ❤️
It's about time we talked about the impacts of the impossible situation of PhD stipends and the cost of living. What's everyone's stories? #AcademicTwitter#phdlife#PhDVoice 🧵
Self love isn’t always the answer.
It’s love overall. Love from you, your community, trusted relationships, from family (whatever that looks like for you). You cannot do it without supports.
