Emmanuel Mbemba has a unique profile. He is one of the world’s few Gazelles on the left. Size, power and ball-carrying all in one compact, soft body type somewhat reminiscent of Nuno Mendes. Make no mistake about it—he’s a £50M defender.
Eugene Mutuku was a final year student at KMTC Yata(Matuu). He was set to graduate this year. As part of the course requirement he was expected to be on attachment these few months.
He had just started his attachment on Tuesday this week at a hospital in Kasarani. That's where he was headed to on Thursday when a matatu conductor threw him from a moving NICCO SACCO bus registration number KDV 713J. He was thrown to the tarmac and he was run over.
A good Samaritan quickly picked the injured Eugene who has writhing in pain. As he was rushing him to hospital he found the same bus at garden estate picking passengers. He told them he had the passenger they threw to the tarmac.
He wanted them to take him to hospital but they were unbothered. Instead they told him they will go to the police station to report.
The good Samaritan ended up with Eugene at KNH where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
I don't know what to call this 😢.
You disappear from X a few hours and come back to the stark reminder of the realities of your country. A dammed river made private, more school strikes, Zim looter in town, Ebola money, county officer Raid, Meru deforestation, all in one scroll.
Yikes!
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PRAISE THE LORD 🙏🥺. My heart is full of gratitude as I share this final update : I’ve been compensated 115k for my stolen onions through an order by the board at @NCPB_KE Head office industrial Area .
After thorough investigation,it was established that
This teacher deserves every recognition there is.
No budget, no equipment but just a teacher who understood that preparing children for life sometimes means preparing them for danger. They used what they had and taught children something that could one day save their lives.
This is the Kenya that never makes headlines. Teachers who buy chalk with their own money, stay late without overtime and now conduct fire drills with grass and sticks because the government is too busy borrowing money to pay interest on borrowed money.
This should not be exceptional. Fire safety drills should be mandatory in every school in Kenya. Every child should know what to do when fire breaks out. That knowledge saves lives.
Well done to that Mwalimu wherever she is.
But let us also be angry that they had to improvise. In 2026 a teacher is using a pile of grass to teach what the ministry should be resourcing properly.
The teacher showed up. The government did not. That is the full picture.
Dismas wa Tabu. Dreaming in installments. Billed in full.
Sprinkling ash consistently on the plants helps control aphids.
A mixture of neem oil, soapy water from a bar soap with no smell, crushed garlic and pepper sprayed between 2-4 days intervals works.
Planting the Mexican Marigold in between the live fence, helps too.
NTSA CAMERAS INSTANT FINES ARE ILLEGAL
Our judicial system especially the criminal system is underpinned in due process. Before one is fined, one has to be proven guilty. Traffic laws are criminal in nature.
To be found guilty in a criminal process, two elements must be proved: That one had a criminal intent (mens rea) & that one committed the criminal act (actus reus).
To issue an instant fine to a car owner is wrong on many levels. It presupposes the following:
1. That the driver at the material time is also the owner of the car which is not generally true.
2. That the driver knowingly broke the law which again isn’t true all the time. It could be a medical issue.
If the driver isn’t the owner, then to fine the owner is completely unconstitutional as there is no transferred malice in traffic laws. If the driver who violates traffic law isn’t the owner, then his crime can’t be transferred to the owner.
NTSA Camera instant fines is a noble idea but without constitutional & legal foundation. It is executive irrational exuberance.
The French cut off the head of their King and Queen for arrogance of a level much lower than that exhibited by Aden Duale in Parliament today. We are tolerating a lot of mediocrity and abuses from our elected leaders in Kenya.
Tomorrow…
One of my most in-depth threads of all time.
It has dominated my mind ever since the news broke.
I finally finished the thread today.
Mama Mia.
This is the most poignant decision Liverpool have made post-Klopp. No doubt about it…
