[The Winning Difference @thewinningdiff1]

“Discipline is knowing what you’re supposed to do, when you’re supposed to do it, the way it’s supposed to get done. Do the right thing, the right way all the time. Self discipline, there’s something I’m supposed to do that I really don’t want to do, can you make yourself do it?” Nick Saban
There is a difference between what you want and what you are willing to do.

#Coaches - the answers you're looking for are quite often right in front of you.

For example - ask a #coach who's achieved high level success - "what does it take to win at professional or Olympic level?"

They'll say things like:

"Commitment"
"Dedication"
"Resilience"
"Passion"
"Courage"
"Persistence"
"Mental skills - like focus and concentration"
"Skill execution under fatigue and pressure"

Not one of them will tell you to "Train at the correct heart rate" or to "Do more laps".

We know what it takes to be a successful coach. It's in books. It's on the internet. You can see people talk about it on YouTube and in social media.

So my question for you today is - if you know what really matters in #coaching - DID YOU COACH ANY OF IT TODAY?

Or did you do what most coaches do - which is count laps, do drills, measure workload and yell numbers?

You know what it takes to be the coach you want to be - what are you waiting for?

Poor Attitude in one player, infects a team, it is a non negotiable

FIXED v GROWTH

What type of Mindset do you have❓🧠

FIXED: People believe that intelligence & talents are fixed and static.

GROWTH: People believe that intelligence & talents can be improved through effort & learning.

A GROWTH mindset is KEY for personal development! 🔑

[Jon Beck @CoachJonBeck]

Life has no guarantees. Just because you work hard doesn’t mean you’ll be successful or even that you’ll play more or ever be a starter, but HARD WORK is the foundation for ANY kind of success, ON & OFF the court. In the game & in life, without the hard work, you have NO CHANCE!

[Coach the Coaches @WinningCoaches]

"In 19 years, Tim Duncan was never late for a practice, workout, or bus. That's a standard of excellence you tend to take for granted."
