The disgraced Home Secretary @SuellaBraverman claimed £2,684 back on expenses to cover the utility bills on her second home last year.
Retweet this if you think Braverman should be paying for her own utility bills.
Covid. Ukraine. The mad mini-budget. Austerity. General Tory incompetence and waste. All factors in the current economic mess. But BREXIT is right up there with all of them. Yet the people in power don’t want to say so. Madness. You can’t fix what you won’t admit is broke
The folk at @Nyetimber have asked us to pull our Mogg film cos it featured their fizzy wine being enjoyed at Glyndebourne. They say: “We do not accept any connection between the nature of the video/Jacob Rees-Mogg and the Nyetimber brand.” Don’t blame them. Here’s a new one. 🍾
If Matt Hancock would rather go on I'm A Celebrity than serve his constituents while being paid lots of money to be an MP, he should face an immediate by-election. Against me. RT if you agree.
Laura Kuenssberg's now-weekly refrain as she interrupts Labour politicians: "we're running short of time". Who schedules the interviews? We had 30mins of Gove, 8 of Yvette Cooper
I predict a rapid self-combustion of @SuellaBraverman, yet again proving that the today’s carousel of chaos is no better than last week’s shower of shenanigans.
Big mistake for Sunak to have his big cabinet hitters out on day 1 defending the reappointment of a senior colleague who broke the ministerial code & reportedly lied about it just six days ago
NEW: Around 65% of the cabinet are privately educated. This is more than double that of Theresa May’s 2016 Cabinet (30%), and more than David Cameron’s 2015 Cabinet (50%). Just 7% of Brits are privately educated. A two-tier education system creates a two-tier society.
The Home Secretary was forced to resign less than 1wk ago for Ministerial Code breach/security lapse - and still lots of unanswered Qs on breach.
Yet Rishi Sunak reappointed her.
How on earth is this the “integrity & professionalism” he promised just five hours before?
@AvaSantina Sunak is a god send for Labour
He is yet another in a chain of robotic PM's who refuse to answer a question and try and fit Corbyn in as much as possible,
The disaster that is Bravermann from Day One destroys his credibility and promises to act with integrity
I assume that Sunak will ensure that he understands the country he wants to govern by ensuring that his family get all their healthcare from the NHS and that he would send his children to school alongside your children in a state school.
They bothered with the set. They set up an autocue. The hype was huge!People the world over waiting to hang on every word. And he said nothing other than he thought Liz Truss was terrific and he liked the country quite a lot and he hoped the Tory party could pull together. Weird
I'm sure now he's dropped out he will be getting back to Uxbridge to do a surgery this week with his constituents and will be in the debates in parliament tomorrow to do his job.
I see Johnson as responsible for stripping my family of our European Citizenship and it is no exaggeration to say that I detest him and all that he and his family stands for.
