I'm often called a boomer, it's meant as a slight and usually comes from younger males who think we had it easy.
They're posting from their double glazed homes with the heating on Fridges, multiple TVs, gym memberships, and they love playing on their X Box
keeping their working hours under 21 per week so they can claim benefit
The reality of being a boomer.
We had parents who served in a war and suffered a further 10 years of food rationing so
breast milk was scarce due to malnutrition.
Being born in a cold damp house heated by a coal fire, your dad's army coat was used as surplus bedding.
Vegetables were seasonal as were childhood diseases. We fought them all off Measles, Mumps, chicken pox and even scarlet fever.
The countryside was a world away, and you only saw grass if someone in The street had a car and took you there as a weekend treat.
We didn't need a computer to occupy our Sunny Delight hyper active minds, the journey, looking out of the window was the treat.
We walked everywhere,
We usually had just one fat kid in school not a full class of them with their allergies and syndromes.
We had one special outfit known as our ' Best Clothes' and these were looked after like the robes of an ordained dignitary.
Hygiene wasn't even a thing, there were no bathrooms, the toilet was at the bottom of the yard heated by a paraffin lamp to stop the pipes freezing.
The only hot water was the kitchen sink with a water heater known as a geyser .
Used frugally to keep costs down.
Teachers smoked in schools, everyone smelled of nicotine. Windows weren't opened till May as heat was precious.
Often the bills outweighed the income and were juggled for payment .
No automatic washing machines or dryers, mangles were in the back yard to squeeze out the excess water after a dolly tub wash .
You might have to research these items.
If you wanted to learn you had to read books, there was no Google short cut .
Communication was someone five doors down who might have a phone you could use as long as you took a threepenny bit to pay for it.
The operator would put you through!.
You didn't follow your dreams, you didn't dream, you just took a job to bring money into the house and tip up to your parents to help with the bills.
No spa days no film star beauty treatments no weekends away or hen nights abroad, two weeks in Blackpool once a year if you were lucky.
This went on till you could afford to start your own dreary journey of a life as a working class Brit in the very early 60s.
This is the same generation now helping fund kids and grandkids education or house purchases because you've blown it on take aways, tattoos, designer clothes, stag nights that last longer than family holidays, and other such self absorbed bollox.
Boomers have usually contributed at least 50 years of a 42 hour week so they can have time to themselves before some health issues steals what's left of their lives.
So if choose to use social media mind your own business and get up your own end!
Our veterans...
Most of us have felt disappointed, angry and let down by this and previous governments. The lies to gain votes, the betrayals once in office, but now we can add shame to the list .
I feel ashamed of my government.
The SAS, one of our most revered military establishments have threatened to sue the government if this latest Bill is passed.
The Bill cloaked in waffle and empty promises for veterans is anything but protection for our servicemen and women.
We need these people, we rely on them. Nothing screams don't join the armed forces more than a politically motivated witch hunt decades after service.
Men of courage and valour, who have faced our worst enemies now sit in fear of the postman or a knock at the door that will deliver the most bitter blows of their entire career, at their most vulnerable time in their lives.
Some live with disabilities, poverty and homelessness because provision for care has been none existent from decades of hapless governments, whose plastic priorities are a window to their empty souls.
The public are with our veterans. The letter of intent to sue the government shows what dark times we are living through.
Politicians who have never experienced a day of discomfort or a moment of uncertainty will pontificate over the whys and wherefores of this Bill, as our veterans await a cruel and unnecessary fate from weaponised paperwork that will crush their lives .
The saddest part of all The man currently running the show Kier Starmer is a human rights lawyers, with a record that isn't something I'd be proud of .
Foreign faces famous sexual preditors and the dregs of society stand a better chance with him than our own military veterans.
Many feel the Judiciary has been politicised so I question what chances they have of success.
The success is the international shameful light they throw on our political class.
Government can use tax payer money to fight and even drag the case out and bury them in costly paperwork...
A public outcry could change all that .
Get on threads, share supportive stories and email your MPs.
We are many in number let's but few do actually. It's time to change that .
Don't allow this betrayal to go unnoticed.
The treatment of Martine Croxall by the BBC is despicable. The teleprompter said “pregnant people”. She corrected it to “pregnant women”. She that had 20 complaints lodged by trans activists and the BBC upheld those complaints.
Absolute disgrace. Another reason I refuse to pay for a TV license
Nine biological men being declared ‘Women of the Year’ by Glamour magazine is beyond parody even by ludicrous woke virtue-signalling standards… and, I suspect, the beginning of the end for Glamour magazine.
I grew up in an era when mainstream women’s magazines told girls they needed to be thinner and prettier.
Now mainstream women’s magazines tell girls that men are better women than they are.
Christians are being slaughtered in Sudan and Nigeria. Killed in cold blood because of their religion.
Where are the media headlines?
Where is Greta Thunberg?
Where are the liberal students and their flags ?
Where are the Corbyn’s, Abbots and Lammy’s ?
Heartbreaking. It's always ordinary "working people" who pay the price for politicians' indifference to legitimate fears. FFS. Infuriating - makes me want to both scream & cry. RIP Wayne.
I have just seen the unedited footage of the October 7th attacks. Please read:
What I saw was young men chopping off heads, shooting everything in sight, slaughtering little crying kids calling for their mummy, throwing grenades inside houses and cars and shelters, maiming bodies, playing with them, setting humans on fire, looking like it's the happiest day of their life.
They call their relatives to celebrate how many they have killed. The parents back in Gaza are thrilled. They cheer and ask for more.
"Bring back some heads for the people to play with" - asks a commander. The savages wilfully oblige, using flick knives to remove the skulls from slaughtered bodies like butchers carving up a carcass.
"Bring some home for the people so we can crucify them in the square" the Hamas leaders order.
The mangled, blood soaked bodies of hostages were paraded through the streets. The Gazan crowds cheered and filmed, celebrating or coming to spit on the terrified youngsters in the back of pick ups.
The young Hamas brutes with their ecstatic grins, taking selfies, shouting Allahu Akbar, looked like so many of the young men in dinghies. Trendy clothes, modern phones. Energy and conviction.
The first wave of attackers on October 7th were Hamas soldiers.
The second, amateur conscripts.
The third, Gazan civilians delighted to join in.
What even are these monsters.
I am forever changed, seeing what I have seen. And it isn't fake. It's footage Hamas shot themselves.
Israel must live with that right next door.
I fear we now have it, in hotels and houses around the country
14 million homeless and displaced
150,000 massacred
25 million facing starvation
The Janjaweed - aka RSF - Arabs calling to slaughter the indigenous Nuba - backed by Russia and Wagner Mercenaries, UAE and Libya
Even the UN describes it as the world's worst humanitarian crisis
Yet the world is comparatively silent when it comes to Sudan 😭
Young Bob has been violently attacked by a leftist again.
We are offering a £200 bounty to anyone who can correctly identify his attacker.
@YoungBobTPUK
Great Yarmouth Labour councillor Ron Upton was aggressive and rude to our team putting the England flags up on Gorleston seafront. Threatening to pull them down. All whilst wearing his own Palestine flag!
Tells you everything you need to know...
There are less than 300,000 Jewish people in Britain.
They have never forced us to eat Kosher food.
Never insisted their religion is the only one.
Never demanded we practice it.
On the whole They have blended into society here so well, that unless they disclose their religion you wouldn't even know they were Jewish.
Jewish people living here generally have nothing to do with Israeli politics in Israel.
The only time you see a Jewish person asked for comment on TV is usually during or after attacks on their community.
I have never once felt intimidated or threatened by any Jews,
We just rub along very well. I have no fears they're growing their presence in politics, or threaten my rights to live as I do.
Peace is on the cards over in The Middle East
Some people are ideologically driven to avoid peace.
Sadly they get a lot of support and publicity.
In the UK, a Muslim police officer wants to arrest a British Christian preacher because his preaching caused Muslims anxiety and distress.
The world is upside down!
Are you as angry as Alex Phillips?
She can't believe the Hyde Park rapist, a terrorist bombmaker for the muslim brotherhood has been allowed to arrive illegally and claim asylum when the home office knew full well of his history.
