July 1st is Bobby Bonilla Day 💰
Bonilla will receive his deferred payment of $1,193,248.20 from the New York Mets.
He has not played a game for the Mets since 1999 but has received payments from them since 2011 and will continue to do so until 2035.
CONGRATULATIONS Iowa and Illinois – you're more humid than the Amazon Rainforest.
Blame the corn. A single acre of mature corn this time of year can evapotranspirate, or "sweat," between 2,000 and 4,000 gallons of water per day. That moisture festers in the lower atmosphere, making the heat index values unbearable.
Dew points could reach 80 DEGREES. LUCKY US! Every cubic meter of air is holding more than half a shot glass' worth of water.
For comparison, the highest dew point I could find in the Amazon was 79º. So parts of Iowa and Illinois... yep. More humid. Enjoy. :/
Our crew on the @Space_Station caught a glimpse of the @NASAArtemis II crew as they re-entered the atmosphere from their journey to the Moon! We first saw a bright light and a trail as the service module burned up. We didn’t see the Orion capsule itself as it re-entered, but we saw the wispy trail it left behind in the upper atmosphere. Overjoyed that our friends are safely back on Earth after their awe-inspiring mission!
LIVE: They are coming home.
Watch as the Artemis II crew returns to Earth, splashing down at around 8:07pm ET (0007 UTC April 11). https://t.co/n3vZE2rcFv
Un dato curioso:
Orión tardó 42:50 minutos en cruzar el lado oculto de la luna.
The Dark Side of the Moon dura exactamente 42:50 minutos.
Guiños involuntarios de la historia 😉
