The 2036 Long Island Elite National Team has its leader for the 2027 Miami Trip!

@coachcapric has been named Head Coach.

Al is a man of strong character who has proven his loyalty to Long Island Elite, our principles and the way this organization is supposed to be represented. He has been around long enough to see this program develop young players into successful high school and college football players, and he understands what it takes to create positive outcomes over time.

He has also seen why some coaches succeed and others fail. Organization, communication, accountability and team morale matter. Al understands the responsibility that comes with leading a Long Island Elite team, and he has earned the opportunity.

Al will be in charge of the team heading into Miami in January 2027.

For more than a decade, the Long Island Elite National Team together with respected quarterback coaches such as @CoachMaurino (Stony Brook), @QBCoachBrady (University of New Hampshire) @JayFiedler (Miami Dolphins), and @jcoan17 (Notre Dame/Saskatchewan Roughriders) has helped develop many of Long Island’s top quarterbacks.

The position demands far more than arm strength or success in flag football and 7v7. Playing quarterback at higher levels requires attention to every detail, confidence, preparation, leadership and the willingness to accept honest evaluation. Those qualities are developed over time by coaches who understand exactly what high school and college programs expect.

That philosophy is the foundation of the Long Island Elite quarterback pipeline.

While some families spend years hopping from team to team searching for a better depth chart, a different title or someone willing to tell them exactly what they want to hear, the quarterbacks who make the biggest strides commit themselves to long-term development. They refine their mechanics, study the game, embrace accountability and earn the trust of teammates through preparation and leadership.

One of the defining characteristics of the program has always been honest evaluation. Not every athlete is a quarterback, and saying otherwise does players no favors. Some embrace honest criticism and continue to develop into high school and college quarterbacks. Others discover they can make a greater impact at another position. Both paths begin with truthful coaching and a commitment to putting the athlete’s long-term future ahead of short-term praise.

That approach has helped produce quarterbacks who have gone on to many of Long Island’s leading public and private high schools before continuing on to Syracuse, Rutgers, Harvard, Cornell, North Central, Morehouse and beyond.

Behind every name is the same commitment to technical development, football intelligence, character, leadership and recruiting education.

Fall Team tryouts are underway now.

National Team tryouts for our January 2027 Miami, FL trip begin this October.

Long Island Elite Football is proud to recognize Coach Anthony Confredo, who has been named a 2026 Dan’s Power List Honoree.

Presented by Dan’s Papers and Schneps Media, the Power List recognizes influential leaders whose work reaches beyond their own profession and leaves a real mark on the Long Island community.

For those of us who know Coach Confredo, this recognition makes perfect sense. His success has never been confined to one area. He is a business leader, a football coach, a fundraiser, a mentor, and a presence whose impact is felt the moment he walks into a room.

Over the years, Coach Confredo has helped raise more than $1 million for charitable causes while continuing to pour his time, energy, and standards into the young athletes around him. National stage today at Prep Redzone’s The RIZE in Jackson, New Jersey.

150+ of the top 2030–2032 prospects in the country. 24 states represented. A building filled with top players, committed families, and the kind of football environment that raises the standard.

I presented to the room of families on the recruiting journey, character, NIL, branding, academics, and the preparation required to play high-level college football.

The off-field work is not extra anymore. For serious recruits, how you carry yourself, communicate, build your name, handle academics, and understand the business around the game matters.

It was great sharing the stage with Coach Aaron Ingram, McNeese Football Chief of Staff and a longtime college football recruiting and operations leader, and being on site with Al Pops, a respected national evaluator, and Lou Montanaro of AYF, the event director and a longtime leader in youth football.

A lot of years in that room. College football. Evaluation. Leadership. Player development.

Talent gets attention. Preparation keeps it.
