Newly qualified Dr of mongooses studying mate competition, costs of reproduction & parental investment in male Banded Mongooses @UniExeCornwall @GW4plusDTP
So my 3rd PhD paper also came in Antioxidants! Shows male banded mongooses defend the next generation from oxidative damage. Doubt I'll have 2 papers out on same day again! @jonblount007 @HazelJNichols MagaliMeniri MichaelCant ChrisMitchell @MDPIOpenAccess https://t.co/r43VZrvxQz
@DaniRabaiotti@johnlbirch I'm one of those evil people who don't drink tea, unless it's fruit tea or something not real. Could have been useful for the fresh passionate fruit juice I was making out there regularly I guess. I miss that dearly as well as avocados the size of a human head.
Proud to say I had my PhD viva last week! The best part is ALWAYS the cake, amazing stuff from Sophie! Don't have any time to catch my breath as flying out tomorrow and giving a talk at ECBB (Zurich) on Wednesday, 3 days later Aus for some fieldwork in the outback before ISBE!
If anyone is going to ECBB and wants to organise accommodation together please message me! It looks like I'll be the only one going from my department @ecbb2024 #ECBB2024
First PhD publication is out! Perspective on how to assess #intergenerational#reproductive#lifehistory#tradeoffs in males, and selection for shielding the next generation from oxidative damage https://t.co/9CFz2UDmTL @GW4plusDTP @UniExeCEC JonBlount MagaliMeniri @CantMichael
A Penryn-packed symposium today to close out @ISBE2022 in room 27! I’ll be giving my thoughts on dominance in open societies at 11:25, with @collectiveEcol @Tobit_Dehnen and @KingsleyLHunt all presenting!
Hermaphrodites - what an amazing study system! Great talk by Maria-Cristina Lorenzo comparing the oxidative cost of reproduction between the sexes in polychaete worms #ISBE2022.
