@ReploidREVO Heck even when a game does succeed people still find a reason to crap on devs for a game. One example is Kojima after he made MGSV. It did well with most people but certain "fans" pretty much hate his guts because it wasn't everything they wanted it to be.
Castlevania 1 crashed not once but twice on me in this collection. This is because M2 used an early version of the game that has a very high chance of crashing when there are too many sprites on screen. @Konami you need to get M2 to fix this! #CastlevaniaAnniversaryCollection
@Spud_Almighty@Konami I agree if it wasn't for save states being there this is would of really made me hate M2 for using this broken version of CV1 the collection.
@Spud_Almighty@Konami Yep in the reddit post I linked many other people had the exact same crash on the corridor. I really hope Konami can get M2 to patch in the better version of this game.
In case anyone else thinks it's just me experiencing this let me just link you to this reddit post all about why this version of the game is almost unplayable without save stating.

@Protodude It probably does boil down to this. At this point there is only so much we can expect from them to do. It would also make sense why only DMC1 is being ported to the switch and not the whole collection.
@Protodude Like I said before it may not be laziness on the devs part but there something or someone else holding back the potential they have to make really great collections and ports.
@Protodude The perfect example of this is when the devs acknowledged the issues in the PS4 and Xbone versions of RE5 and wanted to fix it but for some reason it didn't happen.

@Protodude But I will always prefer the older collections/ports of these games when the devs tried harder to bring the best version possible with older tech. Except for atomic planet they may have tried to port the amazing RMCW versions but failed us in terms of quality.
@Protodude That is why I don't like any of the new mega man collections. They intentionally use the vanilla versions of the games for no good reason. I may have bought them to play the games on the switch to have them in handheld mode and support Capcom I guess.
