This slab stone is propped up against the watch house in the middle of the graveyard. It remembers an "honest man" (even if the mason originally missed out the "s") George Wighton and features a full skeleton, winged souls and scales

This rather striking headstone stands out against the wall behind it and remembers Peter Shaw Esq. from the epitaph it appears that he was a well known and well respected figure in the community.

We've all seen grave markers hidden by overgrown trees and ivy. But how often do you see roses growing OUT of the stone?

My amateur attempt at an ID call this a downy rose or corymb rose, maybe @bob_ross can clarify?

Artistry, Faith & Hope are so exquisitely expressed here. In the central panel we are shown the deceased returning to the earth. Above we see the soul of the deceased ascending to heaven, whilst below we are reminded that our mortal remains remain in the earth from which we came.

A large crown on this headstone can represent the Hammermen, an incorporation of crafters. Without the hammer it can instead represent the Crown of Righteousness, mentioned in Timothy 4:8 as a reward given by God to those who lived holy lives.

In April we're going to explore #CaputhGraveyard. It's still in use, with the older graves at the top of the hill. We'll start with this impressive looking ruff above a farmer's sock and coulter and crossed spades. The heart is for Divine Love or the soul. #MementoMori

Tricky to photograph, but a stunning #WindowsOnWednesday from John Clark at Ledbury, #Herefordshire, 1991, of the Benedicite. What drama! What energy.

It looks like this headstone didn't have any details of the decedents carved on it except the initials but what is there has some lovely detail. Even Memento Mori is quite faint as if it's a template and the middle is scratched. #MementoMori #ScottishGravestone #GreyfriarsPerth

As well as a fair bit of wear on this headstone in #GreyfriarsPerth there's an obvious repair, itself subjected to some damage.

Do you see the face on this nose? 😀 The wings are very nicely carved but it looks like this winged soul in #GreyfriarsPerth has been in a boxing match or two.

This gravestone shows us an Angel dressed like a Barmaid. Here she isn’t serving Pints, but summoning the dead to arise. Judgment day has arrived & she holds open “The Book”. A pensive looking skeleton rises from its tomb, whilst souls look on from the clouds.
