DEVELOPING: Coelacanth has licensed a Banff well at Elmworth. They will be drilling a ~12,800' TVD well to target the Lower Banff shale. Encana/Ovintiv tried this in the oil window to the east, and have since sold the asset to a company called Rush Resources (interestingly, they reactivated the little stubby Banff well this fall and it produced at 77 Bbls/d oil CD rate...). But back to Coelancath, this area is SOLIDLY in the dry gas window with a ~1.7% vitrinite reflectance I can't imagine, that despite there being good thickness and porosity, that the CGR would be above ~10-15 Bbls/MMcf. Which would be tough economics for full development at these depths and pressures. Even if the well flowed ~10-15 MMcf/d (which I'm sure it could) that's a ~250 Bbls/d well at best, and they have licensed it at a gnarly 621 mol/kmol H2S...

NOTABLE: This comes at the same time that Coelacanth has reduced their oil production guidance from their Two Rivers Montney by 75% concurrent with the release of a new corporate presentation that frames their BC Montney as more of a NAV/reserve prize over short-term growth.
