Researchers at the UofT shed new light on a crucial challenge in the field of nucleic acid drug delivery: how to make lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) break down more quickly in the body: https://t.co/IHGSA9nlQN
Excited to share our recent work, out now as a preprint! LNP-based vaccines cause a lot of inflammation. We describe a strategy to dampen this inflammation through ionizable lipid chemistry while maintaining vaccine efficacy. https://t.co/vyt4r2ylpU
Thank you @bme_uoft for the feature of our journey with @Varsity_Blues Women's Curling and PhD research!
It was only coming to @UofT that I was able to realize my dream of pursuing both my athletics and academic goals. Grateful for the lessons of perseverance and hardwork.
Meet Ana-Maria, a PhD student in Dr. Omar Khan’s lab. Ana-Maria’s journey seamlessly weaves together her love for art, her dedication to advancing scientific frontiers, and her commitment to breaking barriers in the medical field: https://t.co/RCXhLXk40Q
Excited to share our manuscript on @biorxivpreprint where we adapted origamiFISH (DNA origami detection in cells and tissues via fluorescent in situ hybridization, FISH) from confocal imaging to flow cytometry, origamiFISH-Flow! https://t.co/LA3hOnqs9I
First day of the @mrnaconference with @juliencsenecal! It was a long trip to Berlin but we're excited to be representing the @OFKLab with two posters this year.
Excited to share our new method for label-free imaging of DNA origami nanodevices in @NatureNano. We hope origamiFISH will be a resource to the community, and help in future expansions of the DNA nanotech toolbox. @leochou0814@Trav_Douglas11@LabMegatron https://t.co/Vu2lfs47Yw
What happens when you merge ionizable lipid design with supramolecular chemistry? Great RNA nanoparticles with thermostability! Read about our supramolecular ionizable lipid in the latest paper from Alanna M. Manning and the #OFKLabBlueCoats https://t.co/UrRsTeOGTY @AdvSciNews
@DavidRWilson @leochou0814 I was also surprised that they didn't compare their results to the Li et al. paper. This new study also uses a weird cationic LNP formulation (DOTAP, no phospholipid, 60% monoolein) so I would be interested to see the encapsulation results with a benchmark formulation.
It's everyone's favourite reporter protein, Firefly Luciferase! 💡
Done with the new update to #molecularnodes from @bradyajohnston. Having direct access to protein secondary structure in Blender makes for striking renders.

Congrats to our Building a Biotech Venture Pitch Competition winners on receiving 25k and 10k in research funding!
1st place - Myoxa Therapeutics (@GartonLab)
2nd place - Specific Dx (@Joseph_Ferenbok lab)
Congrats to all 6 teams on a successful pitch👏🏽
I made this short idle animation of a lipid nanoparticle encapsulating mRNA! I recently got into using Blender (with lots of help from @bradyajohnston @CgFigures for tutorials and plugins) and its been fun. #molecularnodes is not just for proteins 😁. #b3d#sciart
