@DFISHERSDSU I’ve read that words that aren’t fully regular,are about 75% decodable so instead of memorizing the whole word, Ss can decode most and then memorize the irregular part.Most of the 100 HFW become fully decodable as students learn more P-G correspondences and morphology rules

@jmattmiller I’ve had it write fictional passages on science/social studies topics with specific syllable types and grammar ie dependent clauses to reinforce concepts learned. Also paired passages with written response ?s. It’s a great tool.

@ericweinstein Your point of C student excelling on std tests is important. You also said to fix the educators. As an educator of 20 years, I agree stnd tests are not the issue. As a profession, we should reform grading practices. The malpractice happening daily in this area needs addressed.
