The Steam Frame should have included the following:

- 140+ HFOV and 110+ VFOV @HyperVisionXR optical stack
- Huge increase in brightness (this is the most important thing)
- 2.5k or 2.8k per eye, this is a good sweet spot
- Face and eye tracking
- GOOD PASSTHROUGH!

Many people still don't realize how much subsided the launch of quest 2 and so on all the while hammering money. Valve intends for a better standard for the premium wireless headset that the vr world is going towards.

Frame is easily more upgradable than getting a new one.

Valve is obviously targeting lower cost with the hardware side since steam hardware survey shows ton of people on still quest 2/3/3s . While high res, micro oled would be cool they still are locked down to 90hz while being cabled since they hog power. Also more 3rd party support.

At a most likely higher price tag than the Quest 3, the Steam Frame is not indicative of anything other than Valve's regressive approach to VR hardware and PCVR in general, a complete and utter disappointment of a device IMO
