If you missed the October @GreatSoWeCAN newsletter in your letterbox, it's here too.
Great to have so many good conversations on doorsteps. Keep well.

@MahdiTaarwale That's what MCC wrote months ago. But there are no updates, no notices, and for most people stuck in this chaos on our pavements, no signs of action.
Will you make sure what you are saying is the truth, and follow it through on behalf of residents?
@MCCMossSide@WeAreMossSide
@gogreenmcr People already do this; they sort out your chaos of multiple individual bins in terraced streets. They take time & effort to make your system work where it works. So you could contact them directly.
@Biffa are all paid. So respect & treat others the same. @UppingIt@MCCMossSide
@ManCityCouncil Come on MCC! This is just formulaic advice. You need to make it possible. You need to prove that MCC cares about waste + our environment, so the landlords + students will care too.
Otherwise students assume this is how British people live. Or how Mcr people live. It's not!
UK towns + cities hit by flash flooding 51 times since 2007
"Flooding is one of the most serious climate-related challenges the UK is facing"
So Mcr residents shd not have to report blocked drains multiple times. What is being done @ManCityCouncil? https://t.co/GFWVqvkY0s
@GroundworkGM @ProjectOrchard Isn't this old recycled news? A project initiated by residents, which developers chucked off the site 2 yrs before develt started? Now Whalley Range not MS?
What's interesting is where the trees and containers are now. Please tell. @GroundworkGM @ProjectOrchard@WeAreMossSide
@ClimateEmergMcr SUNDAY 18 June 2017 - a hot afternoon.
Families were sitting + children playing in their back yards in Moss Side...
This MCC sprayer went down each alley twice, spraying each side, filling the air with its vapour.
(Photo caught back in the street.)
We insisted NEVER AGAIN.
Climate Crisis: The world leaders came together in Glasgow. Now it's time for Moss Siders to come together at Claremont Primary. This Thursday. Resident led.
Don't worry if you turn up without any ideas to share. As long as you leave with some -that's what matters.🙂
It's launched! A new hub for all of us in Moss Side to find out what's going on, connect, take part in community projects, and achieve things together.

Lots of activity in the Moss Side as alleys now as neighbours prepare for the visit from the North West In Bloom judges! An astonishing 40 sunny alleys are entering this year so judging will take 3 days. Big thanks to @ILoveMCR whose funding has made such progress possible.
Here's some of the many treasures spotted on the expedition along Moss side's longest continuous greened alley, thanks to the hard work and creativity of the neighbours there!
Event today in Moss Side Community Park! Come along, have your say, see the wonderful sensory structure & grab a free herb plant 🌱🌱 #MossSide@InOurNatureMCR
This coming Saturday we'll be collecting more of this sort of thing on Great Western Street and surrounding area. You are welcome to join in. Meet at 1pm on the corner of Acomb St and Great Western St. #keepbritaintidy#mossside#mosssidepride#m14

New shop has opened on corner of Ossory St. Great to see planters by the door!Businesses can do so much to contribute positively to the area.Managing commerical waste properly is standard stuff but going the extra mile like this shop has is just brilliant.Bees are gonna love it!
@emilyrowles@MahdiTaarwale@RabnawazA News just in...
Yes, it is an offence under Section 42 of the Road Traffic Act 1988. The act enforces rule 123 of the Highway Code, which states, "You must not leave a vehicle engine running unnecessarily while the vehicle is stationary on a public road".
Save image on phone...
We need this campaign in Manchester too.
In our terraced streets, it only needs 1 person (usually the same one... or a taxi) to sit with the engine running, to fill our living rooms + bedrooms with toxic fumes.
Pls @emilyrowles @MahdiTaarwale @RabnawazA
