The boys finished off the basketball portion of the trip with a thrilling 80-76 OT win over Estudiantes in Madrid. Lyndel Erold (St. Seb’s) erupted for 32 points in the win. Lukas DeSchepper (A-B) had a big first half and Ben Murray (Brookline) provided spark down the stretch.

Great day today in Alicante, Spain, one of the best resort cities in Europe! Beautiful weather and beautiful beaches. Tomorrow is the final day of the trip for the boys when they travel to Madrid to play a team from the historic @MovistarEstu basketball club.

The boys finished the day 3-0 in Onil, Spain to capture the title in the Torneo Junior Championship. Favor Wariboko (Westwood) & Lyndel Erold (St. Sebastian’s) wowed the crowd with monster dunks. Brett Siegal (LS) also played well in the games. The team is now 7-0 on the trip.

77-49 victory today over our friends from Dresden. The win caps off a sweep (4-0) of our time in Germany. @NSHS_Athletics forward Chris Menz continued his consistent performance with an outstanding game on both ends. The team travels to Spain tomorrow. #aufwiedersehenDeutschland

@Wolverinehoops1 forwards Jon Ng and Favor Wariboko led the way in the GBAS 92-60 victory over ALBA Berlin U18 team. Tomorrow will be the final game on the German portion of the trip when the team travels to Dresden.

A hot start got the boys out to an early lead which they never relinquished in a convincing 66-51 win over Hamburg Pirates. @NSHS_Athletics guard Max Aicardi, @LowellCatholic forward Caleb Scott, and @waylandhoops forward Jack Melvin made critical contributions on both ends.

After 30 hours awake, the boys concluded a long day with a tour of the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, home to Usain Bolt’s 9.58 second 100 meter dash. #sehrschnell #sehrmüde

Another group of Boston-area players set off for a European excursion last night. This year’s trip takes the boys to Germany and Spain. Players from LS, AB, Newton North, Newton South, Brookline, Westwood, Wayland, St. Sebastian’s, and Lowell Catholic make up this year’s roster.

On the last day in Europe, the boys said goodbye to their hosts in Onil and then saw another beautiful city, spending the afternoon touring Madrid. The team returns home to Boston tomorrow. Thanks for all the support and well-wishes along the way. It was a truly memorable trip.

With the basketball portion of the trip officially over, the boys enjoyed some time today on the beautiful beach in Alicante, Spain.

The boys finished the day 3-0 in Spain, defeating the hosts from CD Onil, 51-36, in the final game to win the 2018 Torneo Junior Championship. Many thanks to our hosts @CDOnil_Basket who have been amazing and generous during our stay.

The team arrived in Spain last evening & were greeted enthusiastically by our hosts in Onil. Today we will play 3 games against local Spanish teams. As you can see by the yellow flyer advertising our games outside this local restaurant, the town is excited to have us as guests!

After a long day of travel to Berlin, the boys battled for 40 minutes & lost, 80-75, to AB Baskets. Best of luck to our opponents from Berlin as they continue to prepare for their season. The boys finished the Germany portion of our trip with a 3-1 record. Off to Spain tomorrow!

Tonight at Dresden, the boys won a physical, hard-fought game over a good Science City Jena team, 96-85. Austin Zhou’s (AB) tenacity, Matt Price’s (Brookline) scoring punch, and Brett Parker’s (LS) spark off the bench led the team to victory. Good luck to Jena this season.
