Slate is a new American company building EVs and was established in 2022: "More than 180,000 reservation holders have told us they're ready for a vehicle that's affordable, reliable, and built around their lives," said Slate CEO Peter Faricy.

- The US minivan market is small (300k/yr) but has zero fully EV options
- Rivian could instantly own the entire segment
