FCT Minister Nyesom Wike fires back at Cardinal John Onaiyekan and the Catholic Bishops, insisting they were not neutral during the 2023 elections.
According to Wike: "I am aware of the position of Cardinal Onaiyekan; all of us know, it's not hidden, whom he supports. It is not every time you say things are bad. Nobody has heard you say government has done this well. Don't tell me they're not partisan. We know what happened in the 2023 elections. Religious leaders took sides. How did the Catholic Bishops come to the conclusion that INEC is biased? What are your facts?"
Wike’s outburst has sparked heated discussions and mixed reactions, especially from the opposition and members of the Catholic faith who are against him and the President’s strong criticism of the Catholic priest.
