“When you get down to it, #GreenChemistry is just good chemistry.”
Precious metal catalysts are functional, but carry environmental & cost issues.
An emerging alternative, Earth-abundant metal catalysts are improving fast!
Can #organocatalysis keep up?

Fascinating work from the @F_Eisenreich group who have developed a method that upcycles BPA plastics into polyiminecarbonate which in turn can be closed-loop recycled back to its monomeric units. This concept has exciting potential to for the #bioeconomy and #biobased chemicals.
🆕Pre-publication of some parts of #HorizonEU Work Programme 2⃣3⃣-2⃣4⃣👉https://t.co/Dsa8ZXajVs
☑️we want to inform potential participants of the expected main lines of work
✅this will enable them to prepare their proposals
❗️Stay tuned for the official adoption. Coming 🔜
Excited to share collaborative work in @NSF_CIC between @ByersLabBC , @DoResearchLab, and @DiaconescuLab in @green_rsc describing the synthesis of the useful monomer and synthetic precursor N-carboxyanhydrides without ☠️ reagents!

Our exciting new publication in @Catalysts_MDPI@MDPIOpenAccess clarifies that ammonium species interact with organic anions via directional H-bonding, not ionic bonding. This striking new model will impact hugely on the rational design of organocatalysts.

GreenX4Drug wants to acknowledge efforts of our researchers. Presently, Malachi GH and Roberta P are seconded to UNINA in Naples from KelAda, Dublin; and Antonia S is seconded to KelAda from UNINA.
They are currently applying novel green chemistry to prepare pharmaceuticals.
GreenX4Drug is happy to report our recent work in @Symmetry_MDPI.
A high-yielding & convenient microwave synthesis of substituted indoles. This new tool will accelerate work in GreenX4Drug and also find use in organic chemistry in general.

One of objectives of the @EU_H2020 project GreenX4Drug is the promotion of #GreenChemistry principles.
We are delighted to see from this recent study how well green chemistry principles are assimilated at secondary school level.

We hope everyone is returning from their Christmas break feeling refreshed!
As we reflect on the drug discovery landscape from 2020, we are really excited for the opportunities to come in 2021.
We hope you enjoy seeing the FDA approved drugs for 2020:

#Fluorinated#Pyrazoles are everywhere! In recent years, @EnamineLtd received many requests from Pharma and Agro on their synthesis. Here is an overview, just out in @ACSChemRev: https://t.co/GswoYwsOJ5
We are excited to see the valorisation of food waste streams leading to novel high-value bioactive products.
We at KelAda have similar initiatives under our #BioorganicPharming pilar aiming to identify high-value bioactives derived from food/agri waste.
