@SoggyyShoess91@usmntonly the rules allow for the suspension of a million games. just not the mandatory, automatic 1 match ban directly after a red card, whether given in error or not. the only stipulation to this is in a case of mistaken identity, which doesn't apply here.
@fferreri9@NikkiStran@usmntonly ronaldo served his mandatory 1 match ban in a world cup qualifier. article 27 has provisions for further bans to be suspended. as shitty as that decision was, they applied the rules correctly, the balogun situation made fifa break their own rules because of government
@YeCuhFooh@usmntonly to fix the mistake you want to break the rules? that's what fifa did at the request of your president, which is also against the rules. fifa have broken 2 of their own rules to accomodate the usa.
@SoggyyShoess91@usmntonly it seems that you are the one glossing over the ronaldo part because ronaldo served his automatic 1 match ban. do your research.
@arevalocharlie_@usmntonly Exactly, Ireland abided by the rules which state once a game ends the result can't be changed. And FIFA didn't break their own rules to disallow this goal after the fact. So what's your point?
@evangabriel10@usmntonly The answer is simple, it's wrong because government interferance shouldn't be allowed to influence FIFA into breaking it's own laws. As for why Henry didn't want to be interogated over it? I'd assume he fears for his work and residential status if he's too explicitly outspoken.
@BabelHodl@HaeseJoris@usmntonly obviously what you meant was that the rules don't allow for mandatory 1 match bans to be suspended, so what's the debate here?
@NikkiStran@fferreri9@usmntonly you forgot the fact that ronaldo DID serve his automatic 1 match ban after his red card. FIFA suspended the other 2 games because they wanted him to play at the world cup, as questionable as that was, they didn't break their own rules about unappealable, automatic 1 match bans.
@Kim__Fuller@fiago7 The team can't challenge the suspension. It's an automatic 1 match ban, no matter the reasons given or if the red card is in error. You can debate the rights and wrongs of not having an appeal process but those are rules.
@FootballRamble The point of ref cam, whilst rubbish, is to elicit sympathy for the ref. Whilst fans have a raised, wide view from their seat or multiple close up angles and replays on their tv, refs have to make their calls from that vantage point, often whilst running, often behind the play.
@StatmanDave 22 goals and 12 assists between the 2 of them. Add Sesko's involvements of 13 goals and 4 assists for a total of 35 goals and 16 assists from all 3 players.
@CalledSoccerUS Gyokeres, osimhen, jonathan david, toney...sesko, openda, cunha, boniface, duran, guirassy, retegui, morata...all were gettable for a big prem team (psr notwithstanding)
@kickback_nedum I heard your take on Carragher's AFCON statement on the podcast, and whilst i see your point, you basically sounded the same as Carragher when you said, "the asian cup or whatever it's called". If you don't even know the name of the thing you're defending...
@footballtweet Bare in mind that if you're agreeing with the great Baggio...he's essentially saying YOU don't deserve an opinion because you're not as good as the players.
