Happy holidays from the Greene lab! We had another awesome white elephant gift exchange with the @GingerCarlini , Léonard, and @SepLabUCSB labs! @ucsbchemistry
Congrats to Larry on his masters defense! Heading back to K-12 education on a reservation in SD, where he has truly excelled before and will, no doubt, be even more effective. Looking forward to seeing the amazing young students coming from his mentorship.
We had a fantastic fourth annual pumpkin carving contest, feel free to weigh in with your take! Will reveal the winner in the group by the end of the week. @ucsbchemistry
Check out our #potw! Thank you Aadhishre for presenting this really cool work from the Greene lab! Read to learn more about the unique roles active site cysteines of pyruvate formate lyase play in catalysis!

We are excited that our work in Thiyl radical enzymes just came out on JACS. We were able to isolate a radical intermediate in the inhibition of Pyruvate formate Lyase by methacrylate with structural and temporal resolution. 🎆🎆
