Hmm, what does this button do?

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@QINGCHARLES It’s proprietary and a mix of multiple technologies

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

I just posted 3 new tutorials on Web Sharp Pro v5 showing how to use the new Lightroom / CaptureOne integration, saved settings for both simpler and more powerful exports, reusing custom crops and support for multiple watermarks. https://t.co/g5KHL7cw6l

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@max77sabers Very interesting. The alternating pixels raises questions about how it will perform in terms of resolving high frequency detail, as well as potential concerns for shadow noise if some portion of the photosites have some kind of ND filter or reduced shutter time. No free lunch?

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@brandon_brown83 @5DayDeal Glad to hear it, and thank you for your support!

Roughly 1 billion devices are set to gain HDR photo support for browsing with the upcoming updates to Safari / WebKit: https://t.co/HraNsazeKD

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@max77sabers Yep!

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@DSCCRoss Makes sense, thanks. I wish there was greater use of clear metrics / DisplayHDR certification to clarify OLED ABL performance in these announcements.

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@DSCCRoss Whoa, that’s the same screen? Yikes, missed that.

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@DSCCRoss The IR camera under the display at the TCL booth is very interesting, very well hidden.

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@DSCCRoss Hoping to see QDEL

@ssh4net @BlurBusters HDR can also be encoded without a float. A 10-bit AVIF is 0-1023 int and maps to 0-10,000 bit code points in PQ.

Adobe JXL is 16-bit, so might be half float if JXL support. Or might just use higher resolution for the PQ curve. I’m not sure.

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@ssh4net @BlurBusters You could do either with a gain map. Adobe actually encodes the base image for JXL as HDR and then has a map to render SDR. This is ideal long term to share HDR with a small map. You can confirm using the Adobe Gain Map Demo app.

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@BlurBusters @ssh4net I have seen Apple software bugs specific to various colorspaces in the past, so definitely something to watch (P3 tends to be most reliable / bug-free, which makes sense as their default space)

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@BlurBusters @ssh4net I may have some old JXL image encoded with a CLI tool, but haven't done that in a while.

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@BlurBusters @max77sabers @ctcwired @MishaalRahman @dylan_raga @JeffreyBlanz Lightroom on the web now supports live HDR edits and display (works in Safari Tech Preview 215, regular Safari does not show HDR)

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@JeffreyBlanz @BlurBusters @max77sabers @ctcwired @MishaalRahman @dylan_raga @JeffreyBlanz I've got those enable, but see no images rendering as HDR. Have you?

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@max77sabers @BlurBusters @ctcwired @MishaalRahman @dylan_raga @max77sabers Thanks! Have you seen a path to making it work? I've checked multiple images with dev flags enabled in Safari TP 215, but no luck. I see a failed test in WebKit, so maybe not live? Or maybe MacOS beta also needed?

[Greg Benz @GregBenz]

@BlurBusters @max77sabers @ctcwired @MishaalRahman @dylan_raga @JeffreyBlanz Is there a similar request for VMWare?
