👏 Liverpool legend Billy Liddell would have been 96 today
We recently spoke to Jimmy Rolfe, an outside right who played with Liddell, Bob Paisley and Ronnie Moran among others 🔴

@TheFootbalGuru@DKingTelegraph Playable part?! Last time you saw anyone use their backside in an attacking sense?
Plus, offsides we’re not factual for the first 140 years of association football. They were a best guess. And it served us pretty well. We’ve lost the meaning of ‘level’ which Foden so clearly was
@davidlynchlfc This is all because of VAR of course. Convoluted shite particularly around handball because common sense and intent can’t be quantified definitively on a screen, even though that’s how we judged everything in the 140 years prior to its introduction 😡
The single best thing about football and why it's the best sport in the world is the elation of scoring a goal and the superbness of the moment.
Take that away and you lose what football is.
VAR has killed the sport at that level. It's that simple. It's all for tourists now
The game’s gone.
VAR and referees deciding matches every single week. A last minute winner ruled out for a “foul” that took 5 minutes to find. Nobody in the stadium had a clue what was happening.
Modern football is becoming unwatchable. The sport has never felt more ruined
Clear as day how desperate they were to overturn it. 10 minutes and 100 angles to find something that is apparently ‘clear and obvious.’
Anyone who still backs the idea of VAR in football is an enemy of the game.
@AzariusX@Slotoholic Woodman was great in his cameo and his calm head saved the day here, but he really should’ve dropped back towards his line as he could see that Virgil had plenty of time and space to head it back to him. Really no need for him to be on the edge of his box there
@MaccaRuss@PhilBlundell I think he uses step overs as a method of control. It buys him time. While he’s doing them he can get his head up - he knows the ball is safe as any contact as he does them would be a foul
@ABJ_LFC@BlueboyNk Beauty of the away goal - wouldn’t’ve been anywhere near as dramatic/memorable if that shot sends us to ET rather than sends us out. Even the Barca game - incredible comeback in itself of course - was even more special cos you know that if they score at any point it’s curtains
@BrentfordFC@premierleague@CBF_Futebol Brilliant to see a Brentford player playing for Brazil but would be better if the most illustrious football nation in the world didn’t have a basketball logo on their shirt, or didn’t play in their away kit when playing France for that matter
@celtic_thoughts@DaleJohnsonBBC Yep very inconsistent. Says it’s becoming too forensic, which it is, then seems to suggest there’s too many occasions when fans are asking ‘where is VAR?’ 🤯
It’s a mess. Can’t see them getting rid but they should put a 10 second limit on it if they must keep it
