Every member of the Board of Parole Hearings that supported the release of child sex predator David Funston must be removed immediately. I just sent a letter with @J_Gallagher4CA demanding Governor Gavin Newsom take action to hold them accountable.
While new charges filed by the Placer County District Attorney's Office stopped Funston from being released back into my community, we have to make sure this pro-criminal Parole Board never has the chance to put people at risk like this again.
At his sentencing the Judge gave Funston three consecutive life terms, describing him as “the monster parents fear the most” and saying “there is no man on the face of this earth who deserves this sentence more.”
As recently as 2025, Funston admitted he was still attracted to female children, discussed his need for an “urge control plan” to avoid “high risk” situations, and stated he had sexual fantasies about his own daughter when she was a child.
👆 THIS IS WHO THE PAROLE BOARD THOUGHT SHOULD BE RELEASED BACK INTO SOCIETY.
The Governor has a responsibility to protect the public and fire every person who thought this was the right decision.
Teddy Roosevelt understood that protecting America’s wild places is an act of patriotism, and Republicans built that legacy for generations. That tradition still has a lot to offer.
I agree with my colleague @AsmwomanMacedo—civility and respect must be at the heart of our political discourse. As California Republicans, we're focused on delivering real solutions for Californians and Americans, and racism in any form can never be tolerated. Let's lead with dignity.
Grant Ward was the epitome of servant leadership. His courage and resolve is an example to us all of a life well lived.
I had the chance to visit with Grant recently, and true to who he has always been, he was in good spirits and focused more on thinking of others.
Even during his toughest days, Grant remained positive. He put others first, lifting the people around him and spreading joy everywhere he went.
He will be missed by all of us who were fortunate to have known him. His kindness, his strength, and the way he cared for others left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

This sentiment from the First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California is dangerous and wrong.
Responsible public voices should be awaiting a full investigation, not making generalizations and demonizing law-abiding citizens.
The 2nd amendment is not for hunting, it is not for self protection
It is there to ensure that free people can defend themselves if god forbid government became tyrannical and turned against its citizens
Gavin Newsom has learned nothing on homelessness.
The year before he took office California’s homeless population was 130,000.
Since becoming governor, he has spent over $37 billion taxpayer dollars on a myriad of failed programs.
Today the homeless population is 187,000.
Congrats to Assemblymember Juan Carrillo on becoming Chair of the Inland Empire Caucus!
It was a true privilege to serve as Chair for the past year. We built a strong foundation uniting leaders to meet our region's needs.
Honored to continue as Vice Chair & keep supporting this vital work for the Inland Empire.
After 40 days as a consistent voice against shutting our government down, I voted YES for the 15th time to REOPEN.
I’m sorry to our military, SNAP recipients, gov workers, and Capitol Police who haven’t been paid in weeks.
It should’ve never come to this.
This was a failure.
"Too often, we judge other groups by their worst examples - while judging ourselves by our best intentions. And this has strained our bonds of understanding and common purpose.
But Americans, I think, have a great advantage. To renew our unity, we only need to remember our values. We have never been held together by blood or background. We are bound by things of the spirit – by shared commitments to common ideals."
