The gov’t’s budget drops today and rumour has it they’re ready to spend big!
Big spending = more borrowing = more bonds = higher bond yields.
And since fixed mortgage rates follow the 5-year Can bond. Your mortgage could be footing the bill for all that government spending!
@RachaelThomasAB It’s unacceptable that a taxpayer funded company is hiring foreign workers instead of Canadians. When public money is being used, every effort should be made to support local employment. What’s even more concerning is the apparent dismissal of these concerns.
@MarcNixon24@jayme_poisson should be ashamed of herself. During the interview, she inserted a disclaimer to refute what Danielle Smith said about children on puberty blockers. She didn’t have the courage to say it in the moment, but slipped it in during post-production. Absolutely shameful.
@6ixbuzztv Our government officials failed to make a deal with the US, and now we're all paying for their failure to negotiate. The incompetence on every level of government in this country is incomprehensible.
🇨🇦 Canada spends more on housing than any G7 country and it’s costing us our future.
• 7.74% of GDP on housing (highest in G7)
• Almost 2X 🇯🇵 3.88%, 🇬🇧 3.96%, 🇺🇸 4.10%
• Broke from U.S. & U.K. trends after 2007
Meanwhile, we’re 2nd last in the G7 for investment in IP and falling further behind since 2008.
