@JamesIntrocaso I voted “Like it, but not fav” (true both ad a DM and player) because that really depend on the combat situation. Some combat can be a bit boring and a slog. Other can be involved and exciting even if they last 2+ hours. But 100% roleplay session with 0 combat are just as fun.
@JesseJerdak I was thinking the same thing. I am playing DnD, both as a DM and a player, in homebrew setting already. I would 100% go for an heroic fantasy open 20 system that is build and grow by the community.
@quinnthegm I do whenever if feel it is better for the game. Especially in combat, e.g. if players roll really poorly and I roll really well, I’ll fudge rolls to keep things fun and keep the players in the fight.
@JamesIntrocaso Recently, creating and running boss fight encounter. I think I found a receipe to make each of them challenging and exciting for the players, even at higher level. Slightly related, creating new magical items, especially weapons, both for villains and, eventually, players :)
@YvanBrunel@Jay_BVT@MikeBarryM Hi. Thanks for flagging the issue. If you could report it here, if you haven’t already, thst would be great: https://t.co/pUPUF3jbCB
@Role_Play_Chat I definitely have run some boss fight that latested a whole session (between 2.5 - 3 hours). Those tend to be pretty high stake and are worth the time.
Gotham has thrown down a new gauntlet. Heroic Assault, the free 4-player co-op experience, is coming to #GothamKnights November 29, 2022. Learn more at https://t.co/cDNfcheGrw
@d20play Not a fan either. Once I outright killed a low level PC with a crit. Didn’t properly check the hp left vs dmg after the crit. I would have reduce the dmg before announcing it. Lesson learned. Otherwise, It was never an issue at my table to have crit on monsters or spells.
@DragnaCarta I agree 100% with you and I think they should tweak that if they want to keep the Nat 20 = auto success. Personaly the whole: keep rolling until succeeding is rarely fun for skill challenge. At that point let’s bring back the “Take 20” rule.
@DragnaCarta Used that rule in my game for 3+ years, never really had that issue. I never let multiple try in a short amount of time. You try to bend iron bars? You roll. It is a success or not. No “try again every round”. On skill challenge, nat20 mean x2 success, not an instant success.
@ILif3ofdreads @Holesinteeth@theflightmusic@Flaoua@WBGamesMTL@Pahulle1 Congrats everyone you managed to make me blush 😳Everything I have accomplish on #GothamKnights has been made possible by the trust, support and hard work of the whole team. Couldn’t have dream of a better one ❤️
