If this was a new planning application, 10% would be mandatory now. But, as this is a re-submission, they can ignore the new regulations. Relying on a technicality (just like 0.03% is technically a gain) to let down the environment.
Deeply saddened by Surrey CC’s approach to the environment.
When they first proposed moving Reigate Priory School to Woodhatch Place they publicly committed to Biodiversity Net Gains of 10%.
In the most recent Environmental Impact Assessment they are promising just 0.03%!
@Linner0151@BreamGeorge@TeachLeadAAli You can also register/claim it in a way that means the money is never sent so you don’t need to go through the hassle of repayment but your NI contributions are still protected.
@kerrybiddle@NatasciaMF@BreamGeorge@TeachLeadAAli Registering your child for child benefit (even if you don’t claim the money) also means your child is automatically issued with a national insurance number at the appropriate age.
@kaffydaffyduck @TeachLeadAAli I think you are right, another reason (along with getting NI credits) you should register each child for child benefit even if you don’t actually qualify for any payment.
Just a couple of quick questions about SCC’s proposal for Reigate Priory Sch..
1) Is a new consultation required to bring it back to the planning committee?
2) If it is re-presented, can the committee object on new grounds?
@CllrKingSPW @hpp_sos @KarenLDukes
If the need for a new consultation rests on whether there are substantial/material changes to the application, who gets to decide how substantial the changes are?
@ReigateRabbit @TimReigate @CllrKingSPW@VicLew4 Thank you to all the councillors that took the time to carefully go through the vast amount of paperwork and seriously consider the issues.
My concerns you would just read the Case Officer’s report and take it at face value were unfounded.
Cllr Powell, you were awesome 👏 🤩
A heartfelt thank you to all the members of the public that spoke so eloquently in opposition and to everyone that gave up their morning to attend the meeting.
Delighted to play my part preventing proposed move of Reigate Priory junior school, to a site that would be unsafe, increase environmental damage, and force hundreds who currently walk into cars. Me at 18:00. https://t.co/DknMEpSrZN
SCC was still tinkering with their planning application for Woodhatch Place YESTERDAY! They haven’t even properly assessed the land’s stability.
This ill-thought out proposal needs to be refused.
