I've seen some comments about Ethan Adams. It is so difficult for some to be happy/excited.
Ethan is in Year 1 of his u20 journey.
He has that 1 thing on his side, which you can't buy, TIME.
Just enjoy him now. He is a kid.
Remember the same for Muller and Siyaya. This 3 in November was sitting at a schooldesk and was writing matric exams.
Our rugby is going through a very special period.
World rugby has lost the plot and our referees at the moment average to very poor! We are busy killing the game by “over reffing” and way too many and complicated rules. It is a full contact sport, players will get hurt, it is part of the game.
If World Rugby are content to have a sport where Beirne can be stood fully upright and drive his shoulder into a player’s face and have a red card overturned; but give red cards against players who bother to go low - then they deserve to be buried under the litigation coming.
I know there is a lot made about Willie being a maligned genius or a misunderstood maverick but at the risk of the truth getting in the way of a good narrative… I just don’t think that’s true.
He was a favourite of Heyneke and excelled for many seasons. He was only really questioned by Bok fans for a relatively short period between 2017-2019… and even then there was no obvious replacement.
He’s not Cipriani or Cooper. You don’t play 100 Tests across 3 different coaches without being consistently backed.
He’s an unbelievable rugby player really. One of SA’s greatest ever. And I think the majority of (sensible) fans would agree.
