Liberal’s keep telling us Canada has one of the fastest growing economies in the developed world.

Total GDP is up. Jobs numbers look decent on paper.

So why does it feel like most Canadians are getting poorer?

Because they’re measuring the wrong thing.

They’re looking at the size of the whole pizza instead of the size of your slice.

Imagine 8 people sharing one pizza. The pizza gets a little bigger. Then two more people show up. Now there are 10 people fighting over it.

The total pizza grew… but everyone’s individual piece just got smaller.

That’s exactly what’s happened in Canada.

Massive population growth (mostly through record immigration) made the overall economy look bigger on paper. But when you divide it by the number of people, the average Canadian is worse off.

Housing got more expensive. Wages stagnated in real terms. Healthcare wait times exploded. And the quality of life most families feel has gone backwards.

This isn’t an accident. This is what happens when you jack up population growth without building the homes, hospitals, schools, and infrastructure to match — while productivity growth stays in the toilet.

They gaslit you with “strong economy” headlines while your slice of the pie kept shrinking.

Total GDP doesn’t pay your rent.
GDP per person does.

And on that measure? We’ve been losing for years.
