Really enjoyed speaking at this event today hosted by @UKMisBrussels. Flows of students for study exchange between @UUKIntl member universities and EU partners continue despite the challenges of Covid and Brexit. Lots still to be done to make things easier for students!
Great to be able to bring together students, universities, employers, and international partners for a round table discussion on international mobility. The benefits are clear - need government support to widen access and improve student experience.
Employers frustrated that there are no longer visa routes for international students to undertake internships in the UK, depriving them of talent pool who bring invaluable language and intercultural business skills.
Exchange students clear that the cost and red tape associated with coming for a study period are discouraging their peers from choosing the UK as their destination.

Can't emphasise enough just how important European students are to the UK HE sector - hopefully the insights in this report can go some way to supporting the argument within universities and UK gov for continued prioritisation of European partnerships and recruitment activity.
So excited to see this report launch!
It was a great opportunity to work with @Studyportals data to get some forward insight into where trends in European student recruitment are heading in the next couple of years.
