Al sur de Australia, en South Yarra, el estudio de arquitectura Pandolfini Architects ha sido el encargado de proyectar la Casa South Yarra. Un edificio que visto desde fuera se percibe impenetrable, pero que una vez dentro de la parcela parece estar suspendido sobre el jardín, el gran ventanal lineal hace que el interior y el exterior se fundan en uno solo.

The Munich Olympic Stadium, designed by Behnisch and Partners with Frei Otto, was built for the 1972 Summer Olympics to represent West Germany’s democratic renewal. Unlike the rigid, monumental architecture of the 1936 Berlin Olympics, this design embraced transparency and openness, symbolizing a break from the past. Inspired by the rolling Bavarian landscape, the stadium was partially sunken into the ground, creating a less imposing presence.

🔘Tondo Bridge, designed by OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen, is a distinctive footbridge connecting two buildings of the Belgian Federal Parliament in Brussels. Completed in 2020, the 110 m² structure was conceived as a passage and a spatial experience. Shaped as a circular ring, the bridge is inspired by the Renaissance ‘Tondo’ tradition. It incorporates a continuous, gently sloping path, ensuring accessibility while subtly negotiating a 90 cm height difference between the two buildings. Beyond its functional role, it serves as a meeting space, encouraging interaction rather than just transit.

Structurally engineered by Bollinger+Grohmann, the bridge appears as a suspended pavilion. Mirrored panels reflect the historic 18th-century facade of the Parliament, while an understated glazed opening provides glimpses of the inner connection. Designed as a stiff disc, its floor is suspended from the roof, minimizing structural presence and reinforcing its ethereal quality in the urban landscape.
