"One is left feeling compassion for a generation that feels doomed, that is waking up to its identity only to have it recede before their very eyes at the moment of their awakening." @grossloh on "Vigil: Hong Kong on the Brink" by Jeff Wasserstrom: https://t.co/gISKTHIIGh
So thrilled for @grossloh whose book PARENTING WITHOUT BORDERS is a nuanced cross-cultural take on parenting norms. It encourages a broader mindset and questioning assumptions. My go-to gift for new parent friends. https://t.co/EoW3xnmk2h @Avery_Books#nonfiction
"Distinctions are increasingly blurring between the territory and the mainland." @grossloh on "Vigil: Hong Kong on the Brink" by Jeff Wasserstrom: https://t.co/gISKTHIIGh
Before the @GlobalLitinLibs#translated#YA prize there was no US award recognizing the importance of these books. It was an honor to help select from so many fantastic submissions from around the globe. Winner and honor books to be announced in 2 weeks at @alamw! #alamw19
The wonderful @grossloh writes gracefully on parents' greatest fear. Her son of Ashkenazi-Korean descent is like mine. I feel more empathy than is my frequent burden. Her desire to slow time to savor the moment shadows a desire to speed the prognosis signaling the hospital's end.
What a beautiful and thought-provoking piece by @grossloh. Sending blessings to you and your family.

Beautiful essay on the living made possible by an intimacy with death, from @grossloh, in today's @nytimes#personalessay#writing I Could Face My Own Mortality, but My Son’s Was Another Story https://t.co/Qhku0ixt8H
This teen is my son. He has been hospitalized since May, when he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Please, for the sake of our increasingly multiracial nation, consider registering. It's very easy to do and could save a life!
I’m Greek/Japanese & on the bone marrow registry. There’s a desperate need for multiracial donors. A teen very dear to me (Ashkenazi Jewish/Korean) is battling leukemia. We hope he won’t relapse but should that happen a robust pool of diverse donors will be critical. @MixedMarrow
