Busy last week! I will cherish the memories made with this amazing group of kids! And wish all the best to the 5th graders moving on to RMS, especially these two❤️ This summer will sure be “sweet” with all the @reeses EOY gifts 🤦♀️ and lots of fun planning 🙃
What is an open syllable? As we close the door the words become a closed syllable. A simple activity to show my students what is an open and closed syllable. We are working on the 6 syllable types. *began (open & closed) #sor#scienceofreading
Our Tournament of Books has ended with @bjnovak “A Book with No Pictures” beating out 32 other great read alouds! The love of reading in this class makes my ❤️ so happy 😀 “Ms. Grott can we have an April Madness?!”
So cool to see Center Grove take on Second Grade’s challenge to spread kindness this week♥️ Look at all those names is students performing Random Acts of Kindness!
What an Awesome Friday! We were twinning for our final spirit day 🦅 & we learned so much from @nickbruel 😺 Thank you so much @CenterGrovePTO & @CGLibraryMedia 📚 We we’re so excited to meet a real author! (We also think the @RamsNFL are winning Sun😉)
We loved making games, posters, PowerPoints, and other resources to help teach about Randolph’s History. Thanks for testing them out @lkonikowski1 - glad you enjoyed them and hopefully learned some new facts too!
You’ve got mail @MrsChmFB2 & @ReedMcMurray 📬 We were SO excited to write to your class and get to know you better! Can’t wait to hear back from you 💌
You “Doughnut” know how proud I am of these nonfiction writers! Second writing celebration in the books and we are excited to start opinion/persuasive writing next! 🍩 We loved giving each other doughnut awards (and eating some real ones too 😉).
Jan 2012-Jan 2022: Celebrating 10 years of teaching at @CenterGroveES. I’ve been wanting to put together for awhile now and so happy I finally did! So grateful for every student, staff member, and family to have crossed paths with these past 10 years❤️
Started a new tradition this year! Loved this take home project ❤️ So impressed with their creativity shown on their houses, but more importantly we were all able to share our family’s holiday traditions!
What do you do when your class LOVES read alouds? Count down to winter break with new holiday book of course! 🙂 Also, counting the days with ways to kindness too❤️
What a day! Had an awesome Pajama Party celebrating our published Narratives! We then topped it off creating our own balloons after reading “Balloons Over Broadway”! So grateful for such hard working, creative second graders 🧡🍁🦃🎈📝
