We are a group of companies who are fighting the decision that Hiscox Insurance have made to refuse Business Interuption cover following the COVID-19 Pandemic.
@GroupHiscox@TheFCA claim submitted, no response, no updates, no contact from @HiscoxSmallBiz. Hiscox not abiding FCA case judgement or Dear CEO. Not enough claim workers? This is thievery, who can enforce the the judgment? Why is this allowed to continue?
This pandemic has seen both heroes and villains. Our NHS and Sir Capt Tom have shown the efforts people will take to support others. It's amazing that @axainsurance don't see their behaviour risks casting them as villains. https://t.co/Cz9TJcF1kE @thomasbuberl@AXAUKCEO@AXAUK
@UKHospKate The @TheFCA specifically took action in the test case so they could carry out their regulatory oversight. They have done nothing so far. They were not and are not fit for purpose.
9 working days after saying we are getting an interim payment, it's still not here, @HiscoxUK EVERYTHING to do with BI claims seems like a shambles. Everything. Your customer service on this is non-existent.
@GroupHiscox@GroupCovid @LaGrandeQuercia
Back in 2007, when our house flooded, our insurer was overwhelmed with claims. So they drafted in more staff, to deal with things promptly. There is no excuse for slow claims handling, especially when you've had a year to get organised, @HiscoxUK@GroupCovid@GroupHiscox
@GroupHiscox@TheFCA@GroupCovid @wearethentia @HiscoxUK Can someone please explain why the @TheFCA wont enforce and follow through the judgment? Why or how is @HiscoxUK allowed to get away with the game playing and no one can help with this Or stop them! What happening here is disgraceful.
Here's what @HiscoxUK told small biz owner Phil Harris about his Covid insurance claim: he'd saved so much money by closing that reduced costs had wiped out his losses. When contacted by @sabahmeddings Hiscox said it was an “error” & offered him £75,000
https://t.co/066yQ6lJ28
@smartboudoir@TheFCA@GroupCovid @wearethentia @HiscoxUK@sabahmeddings @BritishInsurers @huwevans71 care to comment on @HiscoxUK clear mishandling of claims adjusting? £0 to £75k is quite a substantial “error”
We like to think it’s Hiscox being caught out on their wilful and deliberate avoidance of liability.
Funny how bad publicity makes errors come to light.
From zero to £75,000 is quite a huge mistake in calculation. How many others are you making??
@TheFCA@GroupCovid @wearethentia
Stop being a dick @HiscoxUK
If you think you have suffered reputational damage,
@HiscoxUK, now would be the time to step up and and stop messing people around. https://t.co/4gRif5cDRy
@LaGrandeQuercia @GroupHiscox@GroupCovid
@CommonsTreasury@TheFCA@MelJStride Then he needs to start regulating the insurers, specifically @HiscoxUK for their shambolic response to the Test Case judgement.
Offers coming in that are adjusted on the wrong cover, e.g. loss of gross profit, when loss of income is on the policy schedule...
@SmallStuff_UK If you are part of our arbitration group, the legal team will be in touch.
Otherwise if you have been communicating with Hiscox directly you should follow up with them.
@smartboudoir@HiscoxUK@GroupCovid@TheFCA @BritishInsurers Back in March of last year it took them nearly 3 weeks of constant calls to get one from them. I wouldn’t have got one if I hadn’t bugged them. - Daniel @DanielCDuckett
Hiscox Action Group warns insurers may seek to ‘read down’ BI ruling https://t.co/tieTQhe4AB
The word 'may' being superfluous, of course.
<rolls eyes>
@GroupHiscox@GroupCovid @LaGrandeQuercia @Oakley_Studios @NotesofNorthlnd
@HiscoxUK "Beyond what HISCOX has offered to agree"
This is the most unhelpful and snobbish statement I've seen in a while from @hiscoxuk and trust me, we've seen a lot.
#hiscox#hiscoxactiongroup
Here they go again, @hiscoxuk have submitted a 20+ page argument on "restrictions imposed" in an attempt to wriggle out of their responsibility to review valid claims.
https://t.co/6T5qS2mUF2
@HiscoxUK This is just how inflexible and obstinate they are:
Quote: "The Court should not make any further declaration as to what amounts to “restrictions imposed”, beyond what Hiscox has offered to agree"
