🎂 Another year older. A little wiser. Still curious. 🎊
Today, on my birthday, I find myself reflecting on a journey that has taken me through different worlds of technology.
Being an UPSC-IAS aspirant and later starting career as a DevOps Engineer, learning how to build and maintain reliable systems, to contributing to the open-source ecosystem, building communities, and stepping into Project Management.
One thing has stayed constant: my curiosity to learn, experiment, and share.
A few things I'm grateful for:
1. @GrowInComm, where I've had the opportunity to connect people, share knowledge, organize events, and learn together.
2. The DevOps journey that taught me ownership and problem-solving.
3. The Open-Source Evangelist that showed me the power of collaboration.
4. My ongoing journey into AI Product Management and building products like @CivilsAIApp.
If this journey has taught me anything, it's this: You don't need to have everything figured out to take the next step.
Keep learning. Build something. Share what you discover. And help someone along the way.
This year, I want to do more of all four.
Thank you to everyone who are sending me wishes on DM and who's been part of my journey. ❤️
What's one lesson your journey has taught you that you wish you'd learned earlier?

Before AI:
You needed a team to turn an idea into reality.
After AI:
You still need a good idea, but now you can execute much faster with a smaller team.
That's the shift we're witnessing.
AI is lowering the barrier to execution.
One person can now research, brainstorm, prototype, build, test, and iterate faster than ever.
But here's the catch:
Execution is getting cheaper. Good judgment is becoming more valuable.
The real advantage isn't just knowing how to use AI.
It's knowing:
• Which problem is worth solving?
• What should we build?
• What should we prioritize?
• Are we solving a real user problem?
The future may not belong to those with the biggest teams, but to those who combine clear thinking, customer empathy, and AI-powered execution.
AI won't make ideas valuable. Solving the right problems will.

“Make Rapido more inclusive.”
That was the Product Discovery challenge in my AI Product Management class this week.
My first instinct was to think about features. But then we applied the Double Diamond.
Instead of jumping to solutions, we started by exploring the problem space.
What challenges might different users face when taking a bike taxi?
→ Physical proximity
→ Privacy after the ride
→ Pickup/drop-off safety
→ Night-time travel
→ Helmet hygiene & fit
→ Accessibility for different users
The interesting part?
One problem statement can hide several different problems. Solving one doesn't automatically solve all of them.
Then we moved into the solution space:
→ Better privacy controls
→ Safer pickup/drop-off points
→ Post-ride safety check-ins
→ More inclusive ride preferences
But another PM question came up:
What happens when your solution depends on limited supply?
If a particular preference depends on matching availability, can the marketplace actually support it when users need it most?
That's not just a feature problem.
It's a product + marketplace problem.
And this is what I'm enjoying about Product Discovery:
Problem → Evidence → Hypothesis → Opportunity → Solution
Rather than:
Feature → Feature → Feature
I'm starting to look at everyday products very differently.
#ProductManagement #ProductDiscovery #AIProductManagement #Community #Rapido
I used to think building the solution was the hardest part.
After working in DevOps, infrastructure, and technical projects, I’ve realized something: The hardest part is often deciding what NOT to build.
A few things I’m learning while moving deeper into AI Product Management:
▶️ A problem is not automatically worth solving just because technology can solve it.
▶️ A feature is not successful because users can use it. It’s successful when it changes a meaningful user behavior or outcome.
▶️ AI makes it easier to build things quickly - which makes prioritization even more important.
▶️ Metrics should be discussed before building, not after launching.
▶️ Talking to users can reveal problems that dashboards never will.
I’m trying to combine my background with product thinking - and understand how great products are actually discovered, built, measured and improved.
Still learning. Still experimenting.

I've started a new chapter in my AI Product Management journey! 🎯
As part of my continuous ups-killing, I’ve started the AI-First Product Management Fellowship by #ProductSpace.
I’ve completed the first week, and over the next 12 weeks, I’ll be going deeper into the intersection of Product Management × AI × Technology.
Some of the areas I’ll be exploring:
🔹 Product discovery, user research & problem framing
🔹 Product strategy, PRDs & prioritization
🔹 Product analytics, metrics & growth
🔹 Technical concepts for Product Managers
🔹 AI fundamentals & LLMs
🔹 Prompt engineering & AI workflows
🔹 Building AI products from scratch
🔹 AI evaluation & quality
🔹 AI Agents & Multi-Agent Systems
🔹 RAG & AI-powered applications
🔹 Building a portfolio-ready AI product
The fellowship also provides hands-on exposure to modern Product and AI tools, along with projects and mentorship - something I'm particularly looking forward to applying through practical experimentation.
For me, this isn't just about adding another certificate.
It's about becoming better at answering questions like:
- What problem should AI solve?
- Where does AI actually add value?
- How should an AI product be designed and evaluated?
- When should an AI system act - and when should a human remain in the loop?
- How do we turn AI capabilities into products people actually want to use?
I'll be sharing my weekly learnings, experiments, AI tools, product observations and project progress here as I go.
Looking forward to learning in public, experimenting more, and building at the intersection of AI × Product × Technology.

A Jira ticket can be marked “Ready” and still not be ready for development.
I’ve seen this happen when a requirement moves quickly from Slack → Jira → Sprint.
The ticket exists.
The developer is assigned.
The sprint has started.
But then the questions begin:
“Which user flow should we follow?”
“What happens in this edge case?”
“What should the API return?”
“Who will validate this?”
And suddenly, a 2-day task becomes a week of clarification.
This is where I see the PM + Scrum Master responsibilities working together.
As a PM, I focus on:
→ What problem are we solving?
→ Who is the user?
→ What does success look like?
→ What are the acceptance criteria?
→ What dependencies or edge cases exist?
As a Scrum Master, I focus on:
→ Is the team aligned before starting?
→ Are blockers visible?
→ Are we discussing the right questions during refinement?
→ Is the story small enough to complete within the sprint?
→ Are we protecting the team from unnecessary scope changes?
My simple “Ready for Development” checklist:
✅ Clear user story
✅ Acceptance criteria defined
✅ Designs/API requirements available
✅ Dependencies identified
✅ Edge cases discussed
✅ QA expectations clear
✅ Story small enough for the sprint
✅ Team understands what “Done” means
One important lesson:
A Jira ticket is not the unit of progress. Shared understanding is.
Jira helps us track the work.
Slack helps us discuss the work.
But refinement creates the understanding needed to actually execute the work.
Good project management isn't about creating more tickets.
It's about reducing uncertainty before the team starts building.

Most people are still using AI like Google. You can do much more with it.
I noticed something while experimenting with AI in my daily workflow:
We often use AI like this: “Explain Kubernetes, Write an email, Summarise this.”
Useful? Absolutely.
But AI becomes much more powerful when you give it context + a goal + constraints.
For example, instead of: “Write a project update.”
Try: “Here are my project updates from this week. Create a concise status report with:
• Completed tasks
• Blockers
• Risks
• Next week's priorities
Keep it suitable for sharing with leadership.”
Same AI. Completely different output. A simple framework I've started using:
Context → Goal → Constraints → Output format
For example:
Context: Here's the meeting transcript
Goal: Identify decisions and blockers
Constraints: Don't include small talk
Output: Table with Owner + Action + Deadline
This small change can dramatically improve the usefulness of AI in everyday work. And you don't need to be an AI engineer to start.
Try it with your next: Email, Document, Report, Meeting notes, Technical problem
Don't just ask AI a question. Give AI a job.

From a learning journey to building a community - and that journey took me to @Google.
I had the opportunity to represent @GrowInComm at a community meetup hosted at the Google office in Gurugram, bringing together founders, co-founders, community leaders, and builders from across the tech ecosystem.
What made the meetup special for me was getting the opportunity to share the story behind GrowInCommunity.
It started during my own learning journey with a simple belief:
We learn better when we learn together, share knowledge, and create opportunities for others to grow.
What began as a personal effort to learn, connect, and explore technology gradually evolved into a community where people can come together around AI, technology, product, and emerging trends.
I also really enjoyed hearing the stories of other community builders - how they started, what they learned along the way, and how they are creating opportunities for their communities.
We exchanged ideas around potential collaborations, knowledge-sharing initiatives, community-led learning, and ways to help more people upskill together.
One thing I took away from the meetup:
India's tech ecosystem doesn't grow only through products and companies. It also grows through communities and people who create spaces for others to learn, connect, and build.
I'm excited about what's ahead - collaborating with fellow communities, founders, ecosystem builders, and hopefully Google on future initiatives, learning sessions, and community programs.
That's what GrowIn stands for.
Looking forward to building what comes next. 🚀
