Today is World Bee Day! Where would be without bees? You might be surprised to learn there are more than 250 species of bee in the UK. Bumblebees, mason bees, mining bees - which is your favourite? #WorldBeeDay2022#solitarybee#wildlifeconservation
@jackwallington I'm a Janner, born and bred, and this makes my green blood boil. PCC have a track record of making daft decisions, this one is up there in their top ten.
So a little update @ the Grove for you.
🍓Strawberries - much better yield in year two and the girls love them straight of the plants!
.
We've started harvesting garlic, later than expected. Has anyone else noticed where theirs doesn't have enough outer skin? Looks OK tho! (1)
Courgettes, cucumbers and toms all doing well. Three sisters is getting there but corn is too slow for the beans 😄
.
Rocket is rocketing and herbs sink is filling out nicely!
.
Meanwhile our garden is starting to colour up after the slow start to the year.

So we're back, sorry for the lack of posts, it's been a busy year so far. So what's growing in the Grove this year? Seed growing has been super slow with it being such a cold wet spring. So sadly no Chilli's and Cucamelon. In the ground already: Carrot, Spring Onion and Cress.1/3
In the ground this week: Pumpkin, Baked Potato Squash, Achocha, Patio Courgette, Trombetta D'Albange, Toms, Runner beans and various herbs.
Due to be harvested soon: Garlic Isle of Wight and Winter Onion.

Remember, we now collect waste and recycling on bank holidays. Crews will be working on Monday 3 May.
Please leave out your waste, recycling sacks and blue boxes by 7am on the day of your collection.
@AutismKeynes@mkcouncil Its a replacement service for certain routes, so if a normal route exists then its probably trying to advise you to take that route.
@AutismKeynes@Brian27925083@mkcouncil Personally I disagree, I think under the circumstances Servo have done incredibly well, with increased amounts of waste to contend with, remember we are still in a pandemic. Most people can work safely from home, they're still out there collecting our rubbish!
@mkcouncil Considering how full my green bin was on Monday I'm surprised they've done as well as they have this week. And they've collected the normal rubbish as well. #keepupthegoodwork
It's nesting season and our garden birds are working hard. All wild birds, their nests and eggs are protected by law. It’s important not to disturb them, so remember to leave the hedge-trimming until later in the year. 🐣🌳😊
