IU basketball passes the in-person eye test.
Attended both Butler and North Carolina exhibition games. Lots of length, shooters, and penetrators.
Tough defense much of the time, but not all. Almost Rodman-like effort on the boards, particularly offensive. #iubb
Julian Sayin…. Makes some very very very bad reads trying to force the ball to Jeremiah Smith. If I’m Indiana, I’m going to have a bracket, / robber on smith every play. Sayin WILL give you an opportunity while trying to force it to Smith
First half #iubb takeaways vs Butler.
- Markus Burton is going to be everything you think he is for this Indiana team. 13 points on 5-5 shooting.
- Pretty clear that Indiana's best offense is going to be when Burton is in the game. When he sat with foul trouble, Hoosiers offense lost its flow.
- Rebounding is MUCH IMPROVED. Winning 30-15 in that area. Hoosiers also have 12 offensive rebounds.
- Samet Yigitoglu is going to be a problem for opposing teams. 10 points so far. So many easy buckets around the rim.
- Strong frontcourt rotation. DeVries is comfortable playing both Sisley and Alexis together with Yigitoglu and Sherrell sitting for a period of time.
- Trevor Manhertz with 12 minutes in that first half. Strong effort from the freshman.
- 7 turnovers in the 1H. Ehhhhh
- 6-16 from three.
If you were wondering if that Becker throw was defensive pass interference, the Nebraska scoreboard threw up a graphic of tall corn over the up-close replay. Curt Cignetti had to be physically restrained on his sideline. #iufb
