In this case, a girl filed a POCSO case against a man because he refused to marry her when she was a minor. As a result, the court sentenced the man to ten years in prison. The relationship was consensual, but this is India after all.

Later, the girl and the man got married, and the Supreme Court, exercising its powers under Article 142 of the Constitution, set aside the man's conviction and sentence.

In my view, the girl misused the entire legal system. She did all of this solely to get the man to marry her. One can only imagine what difficulties that man may face after marriage.

What is particularly noteworthy is that the judge appears to have asked the girl what decision should be made in the case.

When loopholes are built into the system, misuse becomes the rule rather than the exception.
