However, we knew right then that the extension was impractical due to festivals

The Government @IncomeTaxIndia should extend the Tax Audit Report due date from 21st October to 31st October considering:

🔹 Navratri and festive season
🔹 Dussehra holidays
🔹 GST GSTR-3B compliance burden
🔹 Reduced working days due to festivals
🔹 Practical difficulties faced by CAs and taxpayers

🙏 Festivals, GST compliance and Tax Audit deadlines together create immense pressure on professionals.

A reasonable extension till 31st October would provide much-needed relief to the entire tax fraternity.

1️⃣ Section 16(4): ITC relief for all eligible cases up to FY 2024-25.

2️⃣ Late Fee Amnesty: Concessional late fee for pending GSTR-9, GSTR-9C, GSTR-4 & GSTR-10.

3️⃣ Section 161: One-time 90-day window for rectification of errors.

4️⃣ GST Registration Amnesty: One-time opportunity to revoke cancelled GST registrations.

5️⃣ GSTR-9 & 9C: Make 31st March the permanent due date.

6️⃣ Appeal Amnesty: One-time amnesty for registration and return-default related appeals.

7️⃣ RCM on Rent: Relief where ITC is blocked/not available.

8️⃣ Section 16(2)(b): Exhaustive list of documents to establish actual receipt of goods/services.

9️⃣ Section 16(2)(c): Clear SOP/clarification regarding supplier tax payment—don’t ask taxpayers to do the impossible.

🔟 One-Time Return Filing Amnesty: Allow filing of all pending returns from 2017 to 2026, with an opportunity to regularise and revive GST registrations.
